I've been meaning to get around to playing guitar again. I'll practice the old songs I remember then I have 3 new songs to learn. The Age of Empires II theme, the Boondock Saints theme, and the Blazing Saddles theme should be fun.
I've also been meaning to get around to reading the Electronics for Dummies book my grandpa got me. I'm having a difficult time with it. I'm not much of a reader. I only get a few pages then I get bored. Also I'm not sure where to start. I want to just go beginning to end. The thing is the beginning gives off examples of uses for electric current and what it's composed of. That's stuff I learned in physics in high school. I don't want to jump too far forward and get confused.
I've been building a few simple circuits. The other day I made a biscuit light. Just a light mounted on a biscuit for a light snack! Now I have it mounted on my hat. It's so simple the battery pack isn't even secured to anything to keep it from sliding around. It's also got no power switch. We had a broken LED flashlight I've taken apart for parts. The only real problem was a bad battery. Anyway for a new power source I've taken the battery out of a cordless phone. I'm being careful not to solder anything so I can put it back in the phone later. I wanted to wire a switch to the LEDs then ductape the wires in all other connections so I don't solder the ends of the battery lines. The only switch I could find is really tight conditions for soldering so I can't solder it well. I'll tinker with it more. I can probably tape the wires to my tank pin and use that for a switch. Pin connected turns the light on and pin disconnected turns it off.
