SUMMARY
"Meet Nao Kanzaki, an innocent, shy girl that has one major flaw. Nao will trust anyone on anything. She is the kind to return 100 yen (about 23 cents) to the police and is constantly falling for scams and traps. One day she arrives home to find a mysterious package and a letter. The letter tells her she is now part of The Liar Game, and the package has 100 million yen! (about 1 million dollars) She is instructed that to win the game, she must take a random opponents money, who also has 100 million yen, while protecting her own. Throw in an Ex-Con, Shinichi Akiyama, who has a masters degree in all fields of psychology and agrees to help her out, and you have a manga that will keep you guessing until the very last turn!!!"
CONTENT LEVELS
Plot: 9/10---The summary above only describes how the FIRST liar game round goes! this round lasts about 7 chapters, but after each round, the game changes! new twists, new players, new thrills, and greater risk. even more so, sometimes the simplest games, are the hardest to win >_<
Violence: 4/10---those looking for guns, swords, etc. will be highly disappointed. violence is a very rare commodity here except by means of psychological damage.
Fan Service: 1/10---while once in awhile we see a hot body (and in one of the more recent chapters, we find Nao is quite....*ahem* "developed" >///> wink but mainly, no. its a dry well here.
Action/Suspense: 8/10---Akiyama's traps and tricks as well as Nao's gullibility and any rivals of the moment pulling something shifty will always leave you wondering what comes next!!! as newer characters are introduced, the suspense only heightens surprised
Romance: 2/10---i give this a 2 instead of a 1 mainly because anyone reading this series will look at Nao and Akiyama and practically feel the energy. Akiyama playing her lil hero is something out of a classic romance, but actual romance? Pretty much isn't anything at all.
(if you feel something should be added to the content ratings, comment/PM me biggrin )
OTHER THINGS OF INTEREST
This series may be pretty unknown here, but in japan it has plenty of a fanbase. toys, figures, and even masks of the liar game hosts! As it's also mentioned in the tags, it is a live action. This means there is a live action series based on the manga. It is currently still running with 2 seasons done and a movie on the way. Personally i like it ^.^
One other note, it has a spin off volume called "Liar Game: Roots of A" which has 6 chapters. The first chapter shows how Akiyama got into psychology. The remaining 5 tell short stories, but trust me when i say if you like Liar Game, you'll like this as well.
PARTING WORDS
All in all i must say that this is an AMAZING manga! The tricks keep you guessing and your heart pounding. You'll often wonder "omg what is he/she/they doing!?" and the answer will always surprise. A downside is that the manga updates irregularly. this means you could get a new chapter every week, or not one for a whole month >.< it's worth it if you get into the series though.
Overall Score......8/10!
Thanks for reading!!!

I be recommending it to him : D
And goodness the main heroine sounds like my cousin back home; she trusts everyone just a tad bit too easily.
Thanks for the review, Tokkun! heart
