Friends don't usually stay friends for long...
Why did me and Whitnei's friendship last as long as it did when we had so much trouble getting along?
The problem back then was she wanted me to be her friend only, no one else.
I remember trying to be friends with someone new, and she got pissed at me.
She said that I can be the new one's friend, or her friend. Since I knew Whitnei longer than this other girl, I chose Whit.. Kind of retarded.
Then Whitnei decided to find a another friend, Nicole.
I kinda had a problem with that at first, but we ended up friends.
I became closer to Nicole, and that caused a lot of fights with Whitnei.
I don't remember what exactly those fights were over... But I know they were all stupid.
When I got held back, we stopped talking as much. When I began home schooling, we almost stopped completely. We just sent each other Emails every now and then... Not really every now and then, we rarely sent anything to each other. I think that part of the reason why she stopped talking to me was because of her parents.
Recently, she started talking to me more over the internet.. And she actually invited me to go to the zoo with her. This surprised me...
The zoo was a little awkward, but I acted myself. I wonder if I seemed different to her.. Probably not. I tried not to be too "serious". I could never have a serious conversation about anything with Whitnei, so I usually acted like I was insane instead.
Nicole still stayed my friend even though I got held back and stopped going to public school.
I'm very lucky to have a friend like her. I don't know what I would have done without her.
