1. You can talk to them about anything
Ex.
“Hey mom I didn’t actually sleep over at so-and-so’s house last night, I was really at an unsupervised house party where drugs and alcohol were being served. I got pretty high and so drunk that I had unprotected sex. Oh yeah, and could you bail me out of jail?”
Like that’ll ever happen.
2. If you tell the truth you’ll get in less trouble.
Ex.
Parent- Did you steal 20 dollars out of my purse?
Kid- Yes
P- Your grounded! No tv, cell phone, or computer for a week!
P- Did you steal 20 dollars out of my purse?
K- No
P- Huh, I must have stuck it in a pair of pants….
