Iyori's First Law of Feline Inertia:
A cat at rest will tend to remain at rest on the most inconvenient place or at the most inconvenient position (assuming the cat is, in fact, located on a living human being at the time) until acted upon by an outside force.
Iyori's Second Law of Feline Inertia:
A cat in motion will tend to remain in motion until a state of (a) physical exhaustion, (b) complete concealment from irritated humans seeking revenge for feline mischief, or (c) sudden emotional neediness is achieved, at which point the First Law of Feline Inertia will come into effect.
I write this from long-suffering observation, considering at the moment my shouldes are occupied by a 15-pound Maine coon cat tom and my lap is occupied by a somewhat less hefty kitten of indeterminate origin who keeps almost sliding off onto the floor as he falls asleep, forcing me to catch him before he decides to dig into my legs to anchor himself.
This does not bode well for my day's plans of activity OUT of this chair.
Ah, well. wink Moments of perfect contentedness like this don't come along every day.
