Awesomesauce Person #1: Gregory Rasputin

The death of Gregory Rasputin was perhaps even more bizarre than his strange life. To get rid of him, a group of nobles lured Rasputin to the palace of Prince Felix, where they served him cakes and wine laced with enough cyanide to kill several men. Incredibly, Rasputin was not affected. Next, Prince Felix shot him through the chest with a revolver. Rasputin fell. As the conspirators examined the body, Rasputin sprang to his feet and began to attack Prince Felix! The prince fled. Then Rasputin attempted his own escape. He bolted outside and ran across the courtyard toward the gate. Another shot hit him and he fell into the snow. The conspirators then clubbed him unconscious. Then flinging him into the Neva River to watch him sink.

Later, the body of Rasputin-- poisoned, shot twice, and badly beaten--was recovered from the river and autopsied. The cause of his death? Drowning.
