I feel shame, having to be unfortunate and unconfident
I cry to myself as I feel like an outcast
as I cry, heaven does not hear for my tears are useless
and I curse my fate for I know what my future holds, to remain a fool

wishing I had more hope in my life
wishing to look like him and to have friends
wishing to have his talents and his power
to enjoy what I have least

then I think before I truly felt alone
At that moment, I think of myself and then of you
like the bird that sings in the morning
in this gloomy world of ours, singing from heaven's gate

to remember what great wealth love brings in our lives
