Nikki is a 16 year old girl that doesn't know wheres shes from or who she is up to the age of 5. She is one of the singers in a group called "Black Cat", her also having the stage name, Black Cat. She lives with her best friends Cloud Storm, who's the prince and heir to the underworld to the west, Mizu Senri, an angel, Saya, A half demon, and Kino Mouto, a vampire. Nikki has has a crush on the same guy for 4 years, Key Youkou, but has pretty much given up on him liking her. She wishes to find out who she really is.

Their is two wars going on. An ancient one that has been going on since time between the angels and demons, and a more resent one between the 4 kingdoms of the underworld, The North ruled by the Zanku clan, the south ruled by the Nightshade Clan, the west ruled by the Storm clan, and the East ruled by the Akumu Clan. The was between the demons started 11 years ago when the Akumu clan was slaughtered by angels and the few remanding of the Clan went into hiding and the princess went missing, the same happened with the Nightshade clan, but their prince went missing. It is said that that once the Akumu clan's princess comes back that the Nightshade clan will come back too, ending the fighting over their kingdoms.

Nikki, Cloud, Mizu, Kino, and Saya go to the underworld to see if they can find the two clan's heirs, and also to see if they can find out who Nikki really is.
