a blushing gaze downward as she slowly reaches out her hand into the night
glancing up, her brown eyes meet the blue ones before her
a smile reveals everything. her eyes widen with a question, an offer
Will you take my hand?
the boy before her looks downward, unsure. his past is filled with suffering
he does not know
gazing upward he notices her hand, extended toward him.
still offering all it has
Will you come with me?
her eyes sparkle in the night, still awaiting his answer
he remembers her words, used to heal his pain
her words strengthened his being
her words encouraged him to strive onward, despite everything
as the mist fades and the stars shine
he knows her
and she knows him
the memory of running, playing
together
laughing, crying
together
they share memories
they share cherished things
they share destinies?
the boy smiles, meeting her hopeful gaze
shy, he extends his hand
and clasps hers.
together, they go off into the night, under the stars
together
