Secrets are spilled, truth or fiction that ruin lifes. The only happiness found in the innocents of a child. Friends were friends, mommy and daddy were always right and brave and toys lived. Friends stabbed you in the back. Mothers fell into the bottle after fathers fell into bed with the neighbor lady. We learn that those who keep our secrets are those who are frozen in time. Dolls, stuffed animals. Those who could never take a breath of air were the only ones who we could trust. We speak to them as if they understand. Hold them in our arms, as if they can hold us as we cry. Dress them up and do their hair like they are going out for the day. Some people grow and don't touch the dolls anymore... gathering dust upon the shelf. Gaining the love of others. Some stare and long for the friend that never was.
