Lawn chair
Feeling at ease
Without a care

Corona Lime
Sun tan
Passing the time
with my man

Radio on
Shades down
by the pond
Peace abounds

Thoughts swirling
relief dispersing
I look at you
and then i know

Conclusions collect
reasons remain
My heart pounds
There is no trace
of any sound

Late nights
deleted calls
this all makes sense
but what about
our marital fence

Emotions sway
Hatred builds
I can't understand
How could you treat me this way?

Sadness rises
Words spew
You were my keepsake
What was i to you

Crumpled trash?
debts not paid?
a horrible rash
that always stayed?

trust evaporates
no calming descends
my anger blazes
as you drop to beg

You had your chance

I should have listened
to what my mind had said
and not have cared
what my heart had pled

I will not fall
for your trap again
get off your knees
