So here's the entery I'm putting into it when they get up.

I went to see the Broadway touring musical "Little Shop of Horrors" yesterday, and I shall now recall the events of that day.

After uneventful PE, Bio, Algabra 2, and drama periods, we all (the people going to the play) grouped up and got on the bus! I was sitting next to my friend Patrick, but he was listening to music so he didn't say much. I put myself in hypnosis and waited out the rest of the bus ride like that. We arrived and walked over to the Sacramento theater after a one hour ride on the bus. Ilt was a huge theater with lots of people in suits and very overpriced ice cream sandwiches at the snack bar thing. I had a little trouble finding my seat, but someone who worked there directed me over to my section and it was pretty easy to get to my seats from there. I was mostly away from the rest of my class except for two people sitting to my left who I've barely met. It was around then that I realized that the theater was literally 89% old people. I was suprised, but then I guess that's what you get for going to a matinay. A friend of mine came and sat to my right when nobody showed up for that seat.

Soon the play began! I was amazed at the quality of the acting up on the stage, being a drama kid myself. They sang and danced a lot, and the story was very good. The story progressed and soon the play was over. During the play there had only been two mistakes: one time the actor who plays Audry's mic was off for a song, and the other time the Audrey 2 tried to slam the door with his roots but ended up slamming it slightly too hard so the door bounced back open. The Audrey 2 (the plant that eats people) was amazing! It was a series of puppets (a series because it grew during the play) made by the same people who made Jabba the Hut from the original star wars flics. When it spoke the lipsynking was better than I thought a plant could have, and it could move around, eat people, and even waggle its roots individually. It was a marvel of engineering. You can find some pics of the play here: http://www.littleshopofhorrors.com/photos/1.html I will explain them.

1. Lead girls who played the street urchins of the play. They had a few acting rolls, but mostly singing. Beautiful voices.
2. Seymore, mushnik, and Audrey from right to left.
3. This is a pic of a humorous part of the play. I shouldn't ruin it for you though. ninja
4. Blah blah people in front... in the back is the giant plant puppet I was talking about. It could move and sing! This was its fourth and final stage
5. the first plant puppet. This one didn't have someone operating it behind scenes exept to make it sprout once.
6. singer people again
7. Audrey and Seymore again
8. dance girls looking at Orin. He was the guy in the astronought suit a while back. Interesting character, funny actor.
9. Was that in the play? @_@
10. second plant puppet. This is the scene where Seymore finds out it can talk. It takes two people to operate it at this point, and the root-tentacles are prehensile and move independantly.
11. kissin' scene! This is the third stage of the plant. It didn't have many moving parts of the play in this form.
12. Singing girls again

In conclusion, the only way I could have enjoyed it more is if I was a vore fetishist! Great actors, great script; as soon as the play started I was into it and I was entertained from start to finish! I suggest you check out where the tour is going on that website www.littleshopofhorrors.com and see if you could make it to one of the showings. After the play the bus was gone because there was a random strike of bus drivers so we went to a modern art gallery. Some of the stuff I saw there was like this: http://www.tate.org.uk/collection/L/L01/L01683_9.jpg http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/malevich/sup/malevich.black-red-square.jpg http://www.colours-on-canvas.co.uk/mod-art/16.12.05/wishes.jpg

Damn... It sure takes lots of skill to do modern art! xD So after that we went to the mall where Rob our drama teacher went running up the down and down the up escolators until mall security told him to stop. He's a great guy. xD After that we ate and went home. I had a grand old time!

Reading this reminds me of my time in Theatre production. We didn't see anything on Broadway, but we did see this play called "Travesties" in a small theatre. Freaking funniest thing I've ever seen. We actually saw the No nudity version. xD It was about like the russian revolution and Darwinism. Very strange. Oh and did you eat at an Ikea? Because you should have. We did. And then fit as many people as possible into one of the display showers. I think we fit like 6 of us. xD

But anyways, I've gotten horribly offtopic! xD It sounds like Little shop of horrors was a hit. It sounds wonderful and if it comes around here anytime soon I'm going to check it out. And I love the modern art, you're so lucky you got to see all that. ^_^

Trips are fun. 3nodding

I remember in grade 3 at Primary school, we went to a high school to see their play of Little shop Of Horrors. That was fun, I still have my scrappy old English book with the journal entry afterwards. :O Then dad lent the casette tape from the movie and I learnt all the words to the songs, then eventually by stroke of luck they played the original on a Saturday night movie special. xD
