Upon closer inspection of oneself, it has become apparent that few people in this life are truly willing to call themselves my "friend". Sure, they'll laugh along, give the consoling words, and all the other motions that come with "friendship" as we know it. Those people are not your friends, they're just souls passing through. A friend will tell you everything that is true about yourself, and the world around you. They will piss you off because what they say is everything that you may not have wanted to hear. You know why that happens? Because they love you. Do you know how often we each get the chance to meet someone so similar, and yet different from ourselves like that? I'm not talking about romance love, but friendship love. The opportunity only presents itself so many times in this life, so when you get the chance to have a deeper friendship, I say take it. I have heard it said that "real friends walk in when the rest of the world walks out", and that is very true. Never forget that we are all wandering in this world, so why not walk the path with someone who wouldn't bail you out of jail, because they'd be in there right with you. Metaphorically.
Wrapping this up, I guess my point is that a true friend is someone who knows who you've been, but doesn't let that affect the way they see who you are. Until next time.
