Story for school
I needed to write a sci-fi story with 25 vocabulary words in it for school tonight. This is it.

Hello, I'm Dash Riprock and I'm here to tell you a little story about an adventure I had. I wasn't named Dash Riprock when I was born, but I figured it was a lot more interesting than John Smith. I'm here out in space on my crappy little ship that was probably made out of dead seagulls. I really don't know how that came to be, but it doesn't matter. What does matter is that I was just sitting there when all of a sudden there was a CRASHBOOMRIP! The next thing I knew I was on the floor asking what happened.

"First mate! What just hit us?"

"Sir there's an anomaly in the ship's hull layer!"the first mate, Fredrickson, answered. He was an idiot, but so was everyone else working for Stellarcorp inc. When it comes to being malevolent, I'm culpable, but I'm adament he needs to pay more attention to me when I'm speaking.

"That doesn't answer my question, damnit! How many times do I have to tell you not to do that!" I screamed back, forgetting about our situation.

"Sorry Captain."

"Ok, so there's an anomaly in the ship's hull?"

"That's correct, Sir"

"Look here, Fred," I retorted, "either call me captain, or call me Sir! Just choose one and stick with it!"

"Ok Captain."

I rolled my eyes and decided I need to check out the damage for myself. I didn't know that we were in a desperate situation at the time, but I was feeling pretty apathetic about everything at the moment so I don't think I would have even cared. I should have cared, though, I should have.

Upon opening the door to the room with the damage, the problem instantly manifested itself. Of course I didn't have much time to think about the problem before I realized with a start that this area had a hole in it and should thus have no air in it! This thought didn't last long either because I realized that I'd probably also be dead if that were the case. My ears would have popped or my eyes exploded or my body would be frozen, I don't know, I never wanted to be a Captain in the first place! The only reason I was out here in this god-forsaken, destitute excuse for a ship was that leadership is hereditory in my family.

Ahem, back onto the subject at hand. Suprised as I was that I was not dead, I was determined to discover what had breached the hull of my ship. As I peered furtively into the wreckage, I noticed a little rock about the size of a golf ball. It was cut clearly in half and was hollow on the inside. It certainly looked natural on the outside, but the inside looked more like the poorly decorated interior of a house. It had a tiny carpet, and even hot pink curtains, hardly aesthticly pleasing. It was the epitone of an old 1980's land house.

Just then I heard a blood-curdling scream from the bridge! I dashed (not in relation to my name, thank you) back to the bridge only to find Fredrick's body there! I had to admire how brazen these invaders were.

"Sir...." croaked Fred

"It's captain!" I screamed back, only mildly suprised he was still alive.

"Sorry, captain. It was.... the ants.." He replied and his head dropped to the floor dramaticly with his death. A sense of trepidation filled me. In spite of this, however, I decided I needed to be punitive and tossed his corpse out the airlock. That'll teach him.

Just then the ants attacked me from behind! One bit me on the back and I pinched it up and threw it off! It was only the size of a normal ant, and it looked like one too. After squishing all the ants, about six as far as I could discern, I had only broken a sweat. I felt kind of distrought about how destitute the ship was going to be now that Fred was gone.

Suddenly I realized how quickly our (well actually now just my) ship would capitulate to the asteroid belt. Of course as a captain, I could choose to go down with my ship or not: We had escape pods, after all. Wanting to be unique, I chose my third option: to self-destruct the ship.

rofl You've got a great, Douglas Adams-like thing going on with this.
