Have you ever wondered if God hears your prayers? If so, you're not the first. Doubts come in several shapes and sizes: Doubts about God, doubts about the future, and doubts about your own abilities. And what, precisely, does God's Word say in response to these doubts? The Bible makes it clear: When you are beset by doubts, of whatever kind, you must draw yourself nearer to God through worship and through prayer. When you do, God, the loving Father who has never lefts your side, draws ever closer to you. ( James 4:8 )
Is prayer an integral part of your daily life, or is it a hit-or-miss habit? Do you "pray without ceasing," or is prayer an afterthought? If your prayer life leaves something to be desired, you're robbing yourself of a deeper relationship with God. And how can you rectify that situation? By praying more frequently and more fervently.
So today, instead of turning things over in your mind, turn them over to God in prayer. Instead of worrying about your next decision, ask God to lead the way. Don't limit your prayers to the dinner table or the bedside. Pray constantly about things great and small. When you do, your Heavenly Father will take care of you... And your doubts will take care of themselves.
Thoughts For Today.
God makes prayer as easily as possible for us. He's completely approachable and available, and He'll never mock or upbraid us for bringing our needs before Him.
Often I have made a request of God with earnest pleadings, even backed them up with Scripture, only to have Him say "No" because He had something better in store.
A Tip For Today.
If you want more from life, ask more from God: If you seek an improved level of spiritual fitness--or if you seek any other worthy goal--ask God (and keep asking Him) until He answers your prayers.
A Prayer For Today.
Lord, You are the giver of all things good. When I am in need, let me come to You in prayer. You know the desires of my heart, Lord; grant them, I ask. Yet not my will, Father, but Your will be done. Amen.
A Verse For Today.
Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be happy.
Proverbs 16:20 NLT
