It is currently 12:28AM. I have just recently gotten home from an AMAZING concert. I went to a Shinedown concert to see Sick Puppies (I know, I'm bad. XP) and got a most excellent surprise. However, I believe I should start from the beginning, so here goes:
It's five o'clock and my brother, my mother, and me are leaving for the city to see a much anticipated concert. Sure it's technically being headlined by Shinedown, but we're going to see one of our favorite bands ever. Sick Puppies. The concert starts in two hours and four people are listed on the billing. Cavo, Adelitas Way, Sick Puppies, and obviously Shinedown. The first two we had never heard of, so like most people, we dismissed them and thought only of Sick Puppies. We weren't even sure if we were going to stay for Shinedown. Horrible, I know. Anyway, so we finally get there, after driving for half an hour in lame a** traffic. We're bat s**t crazy excited after seeing the Puppies' tour bus parked outside. And, my mom forgot the damned tickets. Dumbass. Luckily, my dad was home and doing nothing, so we called him up and asked him to bring our tickets, my mom's phone, and a picture I had drawn for the Puppies the day before. He grudgingly agrees and about half an hour later, my brother's phone rings. He's stuck in traffic, but is only a block or so away. My brother leaves. Of course, we had been in line, hoping he'd show up before the doors opened. While we were waiting -and this actually happened
before my brother left- a drop dead gorgeous man walks by and disappears into the crowd behind us. When my brother finally came back, he came bearing tickets and news of having seen Emma (the bassist) and Shim (the singer/guitarist). I accidentally squealed.
Then the doors opened and the line of people began to file inside. I could barely stand the excitement. Somewhere between fifteen and twenty minutes after we had gotten inside and claimed places right in front of the stage, a tiny little guy comes onto the stage to tune a guitar. As this happens all the time, I think nothing of it and he quickly disappears again. Five minutes later, he's back. With a full band. Only, there's no singer. I don't really care at this point, seeing as the guitarist (Whose name I later found out was Chris) was incredibly adorable. They started to play. My god, Chris was incredible. About two seconds in, the singer walks out and grabs the microphone. My breath catches in my throat. It was the ******** hot guy from outside. My mom and I exchange glances. So now we're a bit interested. Then he opened his mouth. I almost died. The following are links to videos of the band playing and of Chris wailing in his guitar solo...from two years ago. XD
[Chris][Adelitas Way - Invincible]After their AMAZING set, Chris threw his pick into the audience. Guess who has that brain melting boy's pick! They went out to the merchandise room to take pictures and sing autographs. I've never rushed to one room so fast. There I found out that the singer, Rick, was not only hot, but incredibly kind. I bought their cd right there and got it signed. By only Rick. I would've loved for the others to have signed it, but oh well. Chris wasn't there and Sick Puppies would be starting anytime, so I asked Rick about it, showing him the pick. With a bright white smile, he told me Chris would be out in a bit and promised he'd sign it for me. With a huge smile set on my face I went back into the stage room.
Sick Puppies were awesome. As per usual. Shim was sick, so he wasn't completely on, but Emma made up for it. Emma is just...amazing. (Hey, do you get it yet? Tonight was amazing. XD) I screamed along with every song until my throat burned, jumped and bounced until my legs and feet hurt, and held my hand in the air until the blood drained from it and it tingled. And then I did all that some more. They, just like Adelitas Way were going to be in the Merch room after the set, so afterward we quickly made our way out to the room. Again.
My eyes quickly found Chris and I practically bounded over to him. He's soooooooooo cute! His voice was as adorable as his face. My hand flew into my pocket to retrieve the pick.
"I caught your pick!" I squealed childishly.
His response was the same childish squeal. I almost melted. I dropped the pick onto the table and he initialed it. I don't do well with people like that, so I ended up smiling like a dumbass, thanking him and running off to get in line to see the Puppies. When I finally got up to them, I handed Mark, the drummer, the picture. Once again, I squealed childishly. This time saying'
"I drew a picture!"
I felt so stupid and I felt my face light up. Mark smiled a bit and put it down, obviously too tired to really care. Then Shim looked over.
"Is that us?" he asked, a goofy smile spreading across his face.
The disappointment that had so obviously taken over my features earlier disappeared as a delighted smile lit up my face. Shim chuckled a bit and I only then remember to pull my ticket out to get it signed. After Shim had signed it and passed it off to the other two he looked back down at the picture.
"Is this
for us?" he asked.
"Yup!" I said, positively ecstatic from the expression that then filled Shim's face.
I was being pushed and I was afraid people might start getting angry if I stayed too long, so I got my ticket back from Emma and moved out of the way.
Apparently, it was only AFTER I was gone that they began to read the word bubbles on the picture. My mother asked them if they liked my picture and it turns out they all loved it. I missed the funny little scene when Mark was holding it and the other two were leaning in to read it. I also missed it when Shim said,
"That's hysterical!"
With his sexy Australian accent. Lame. DX
My brother and my mom were there to see and hear all this. I'm so jealous. XP. Oh well, I still got Chris' pick and Mr. Hot's autograph.
