last night- i held you in my arms.
last night- i kissed your lips.
last night- i felt your soft blond hair
slip through my fingertips.
last night- with these same hands
i gently touched your face.
last night- alone at last,
our bodies did embrace.
last night- i gazed into your eyes
as you tenderly looked into mine
and under the moon, last night,
our love, like the stars, did shine.
last night- you smiled sweetly
as i whispered into your ear
that my love for you would never die
whether you be far or near.
but now- as the sun comes up
i see 'last night' wasn't all it seemed
alone, all alone, i now realize
that last night was only in my dreams...
