Jesus makes everything new...How new are you?
For an extremely busy person living in an extremely busy world, life may seem like a merry-go-round that never stops turning. If that description fits you, then you may find yourself running short of patience ,or strength, or both. If you're feeling exhausted or discouraged, there is a source from which you can draw the power needed to recharge your spiritual batteries. That source is God.
Have you "tapped in" to the power of God? Have you turned your life and your heart over to Him, or are you muddling along under your own power? The answer to these questions will determine the quality of your life here on earth and the destiny of your life throughout all eternity.
Are you tired or troubled? Turn your heart toward God in prayer. Are you weak or worried? Take the time--or, more accurately, make the time--to study God's Word. Do you feel like your emotional resources are almost gone? Call upon fellow believers to support you, and call upon Christ to renew your spirit and your life. When you do, you'll discover that the Creator of the universe can make everything new, including you.
Thoughts for today.
No matter what we've been, when we are touched by God, we can honestly say, "Now I'm no longer the same!"
He is the God of wholeness and restoration.
A tip for today.
Times of change can be times of growth... Elisabeth Elliot reminds us that tough times can lead to a renewal of spirit: "If the leaves had not been let go to fall and wither, if the tree had not consented to be a skeleton for many months, there would be no new life riding, no bud, no flower, no fruit, no seed, no new generation."
A prayer for today.
Heavenly Father, sometimes I am troubled, and sometimes I grow weary. When I am weak, Lord, give me strength. When I am fearful, let me feel Your healing touch. Let me always trust in Your promises, Lord, and let me draw strength from those promises and from Your unending love. Amen.
A verse for today.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.
Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV
