An interesting thing happened today as I was walking to class. I was walking on the sidewalk (well, actually at that point I was still in the grass walking in the grass going towards the sidewalk) when I saw four orange cones placed the corners of an invisible rectangle on the cement. When I got closer, I noticed the orange cones said, "Caution: Wet floor."
Wet floor, mind you, not wet cement.
I found it interesting in two aspects. One. If you slip on wet cement, (not freshly poured, mind you. Let's make that completely clear.) there must be something terribly wrong with your shoes and the laws of physics.
Two...
the cement wasn't even wet.
Three??? O.o
As far as I could see, there was no other danger to be had within that little piece of sidewalk and no rational reason for the cones to be placed there to close it off. Not that I could see.
*sigh* One of life's strange little metaphoric yet comical complexities, I suppose.
I actually found myself chuckling softly to myself as I walked through it.
Funny thing was...I saw professors and other students walking through it as if it wasn't even there. Then I got to thinking...does that mean I am strange for stopping a moment to notice and think about it?
