Wonderful Nightmare
As I drift to sleep, peacefully
There's a kind of dream that haunts me
Everything turns dark, creatures of the night
Have come to steal the light
All hope has died, despair takes its place
The demons of he dark have taken everything, leaving no trace
I flinch at the things, for they frighten me
Suddenly, an angel comes to me and says don't be afraid
I felt much better, for he has stayed
Slowly, everything turned out okay
The night sky turned to day
As I woke up, my angel was right there
He pressed his lips to my hair
And whispered "It's all right"
I smiled at him and he smiled at me
Because he took away all my fright.
