Living Bread
Today's sermon was "Living Bread". We didn't have communion, but our scripture lesson and references were to Jesus proclaming "I am..." in many forms. "I am the Bread of Life" being the main one.

Today's sermon was a little hard to grasp, but I understood this: we are what we eat, and how can we accept so freely when we have so little to give in grace? If we are not loving and caring, and patient, and kind, in other words loving, how can we expect the same from others?

My test was brought forth to me this very afternoon, when we were in line at Pacsun. Jordan and I needed to get a move on because we were to meet my mom in about 30 minutes and we still had many places to go. Jordan wanted to try on a pair of pants, but the service wasn't going as fast as I wanted it to be. Still this very example was given to me by Reverend Jackson today, so I immediately thought of being patient, and giving grace to these people and not being huffy about the situation.

Other examples may not come so easily to mind, though. Grace is difficult to give, especially when we live in a self-centered world like today. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER: Just as Jesus gave to others, we must give to others. Even if it is very small, even these things matter. Jesus gave his LIFE for us. It's the least we can do to spread grace around the world for other people, and give no matter how small or trivial. And it is in this that we can say "I am...a better person because of Him."
