We've all seen them. Those people wearing peasants clothing (or nothing at all) asking for donations. They come onto your thread, asking for some gold so they can buy an Angelic pendant or something. Oh, please. If you're going to Quest for something, the very least you can do is set your sights lower. Sure. I'm gonna take someone seriously if they're wearing nothing but an Angelic necklace. Get dressed first, then aim for the higher priced stuff, hm?
I know people hate beggars. I've seen complaints about them.

So I was selling a semi-expensive item, and I get a PM from a newbie asking if I can 'donate' it to her quest. Not wanting to be a complete Scrooge, I gave her a few thousand gold instead, and she just took it, without saying thank-you. Never heard from her again.
Now I'm reluctant to donate to people I don't know, or who don't have a quest thread. Ditto to responding for PMs begging for 1/4th the going price for an item I'm selling. I mean, are they so busy that they can't type a quick "thanks" for the gold that resulted from hours of posting and polling?

I agree completely. If you're going to donate to someone, the very least they can do it say "thanks".
And these people are absolutely shameless to boot! They are not afraid of going to to someone who has a Demonic Pitchfork and asking for gold (or even the pitchfork), regardless of the fact that this person may have spent months pollwhoring and saving up to buy that pitchfork from the Marketplace.

I don't even ask for donations. I feel awkward doing so, like I'm stealing someone elses' hard-earned gold (regardless of the fact that they choose to donate or not). Also, I don't want to come off as a whiner, begging for something. Sure, I have a wishlist on my profile, but that's just a list of things I want--I'm not hunting people down and saying "Hey, could you give me 5K so I can buy a Kiki?"
So, yeah. Just ranting.
