Folks, if you don't understand the skill involved in a certain art form, don't ******** critique it. If you feel the need to be a pretentious so-and-so and claim you only like surreal gothic whatever bullcrap, don't insult someone's hard work just because you're too "dark" appreciate it.
:/
As for art being "solely personal" no it ******** ain't. There is SKILL involved. If you don't comprehend that, don't crit. It's hurtful.
That's the problem with the trend of hot-or-not sites being used to give the masses a voice to critique. But, honestly, I'd rather too many idiots than too many sycophants.

I wish we could add Gaia to deviantART, then take the average. One's too full of suck-ups, and the other's a bunch of jumped-up angry weeaboos who want to take out their frustrations at not being a kawaii gothic manga-ka. ******** 'em, I says.
On a more serious note, if you ever did want a more serious critique, I have a friend who's a freelance photographer and I'm sure she'd look things over for you. She really likes teaching and helping people fine-tune stuff, and I've never heard her say anything cruel to someone who wasn't being a real assbasket.

Bleh.
I saw the photographs from the wedding and I have to say I adore them. I especially LOVE the one with the couple where you can see her yellow converse from under her dress! Spectacular. Also; it's obvious you're using a nice camera; the definition on them is outstanding, you used the light well!
Idiots are idiots and they always will be. Photography is one of the most simple arts and at the same time so incredibly complex! It's not something you should let folks making dumbass remarks about get you down. wink
Keep rockin! (And snapshottin!)

Thank you guys, I appreciate it. I was having a really bad day and feeling very contrary to begin with, and people insulting subject matter over which I had no control just really bugged me.
fube, I would really appreciate that. I know I've got tons to learn, and I don't claim to be an expert or anything, I really am looking for honest suggestions and feedback. I know I have a decent eye for composition, but I'm still mediocre when it comes to working with available light. XD
