My heart is like a puzzle,
broken and missing pieces,
you can put it back together,
but it'll never be the same,
it'll always have the creases,
the holes and the wounds,
you can never take away the pain totally,
a small part will always be there,
sitting there reminding you,
of the heart's history,
no matter what you try to do,
there will always be the holes of the past,
but when I see your smile,
and when you say it's going to be okay,
for a brief moment,
my heart feels whole again and I'm happy.
[I found an old notebook with this in it, I think it's from two years ago...]
