Why did you forget my name?
Why did you say that we're not the same?
Was it because of how I look?
Or was it because I'm a crook?
Did you think I couldn't hear
the names you call me out of fear?
Could it have been the things I said,
or maybe the wound I had hadn't bled?
Why won't you listen when I speak?
Why won't you turn to me and peek?
Is it because I'm not like them?
So you think that you must condemn?
Couldn't you possibly see
the harm you'd done to me?
Was it the emotions I didn't show,
cold and empty to stoop so low?
Why did you lie?
Why did I say why?
Is it because you don't take the time of day to try?
Or because if you did you'd make me cry?
