I go about life
I go everywhere
I turn toward you

I remember the times
They'd all stop and stare
But now those are gone

The warmth of your skin

Has all gone away

Now I realize
You're sometime quite rare
You inspired my life
But now you're not there

I'm not mad at you
I'd never dare
I just don't understand
Why you're not there

It tears me apart
Do you think I don't care?
I could depend on you
But now you're not there

Just tell me anything
You must have something to share
I'd listen all night
Except you're not there

I know you don't love me
That I can bear
I need your companionship
But you're not there

But now I will settle
And now I'll prepare
For the ache in my soul
Because you're not there
