The wind whispered through the open window, the cool breeze sending cold chills through the young woman's body as she stood there, in the middle of the small room. She raised her arms, faced the sky, as the air began to move quicker, seeming to be sucked into the window. The words were lost to the sound of the air spinning around the room, stirring the woman's skirt into a twister around her legs. Light shined from her long fingers, the black painted nails standing against the white of the flame now forming in her hands. Another series of words were swallowed by the air, the flames shooting from her hands to the ground, a circle being formed by them on the hardwood floor, singing the edges of the small brightly colored carpet she stood upon. Her hair burst from its pins, the bright gold curls flying in the wind like ribbons, her skirts like flags. The exclamation made by the woman caused the flames on the ground to rise up and seem to swallow her, dying as soon as they came to life, as her lifeless body fell to the floor, the last remains of the wind leaving through the very window from which they entered.
