It has come to my attention that there are quite a number of people out there who have this assumption that I just might have romantic feelings for them. Let me clear this up right now.


I DON'T HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU.


Just because we share a laugh every now and then, or agree on how to spend an afternoon, doesn't mean I've started to make wedding plans. Actually, all of that stuff falls into the category of "friend." I apologize if this a rude sort of wake-up call, but, honestly, of all of you out there, the only person I have romantic feelings for doesn't even call me a "friend."

There's a rooster crowing outside. And no, that's not a metaphor for something deeper. It's literal. There is a rooster. Crowing. In the middle of New York City. What the hell.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Just because I'm nice to you doens't mean I want to put a ring on your finger. Perhaps it's boosting your ego a bit to assume that, because I'm nice, I'm falling in love. This is simply not true. I enjoy the strictly platonic friendships I have with people. If I wanted something more out of it, I'd ask directly and not beat around the bush. I make my feelings and intentions very clear specifically to avoid confusion and unnecessary hurt feelings.
