That what we want
Is what we can't have?
It has been proven true again,
Because I want you.
Every day I see you and smile inside
Despite everything.
You smile makes all of my suffering worthwhile.
As soon as you look away,
My heart sinks.
Because I know that I don't mean anything to you.
I am just another face,
One that comes and goes,
And you will never know,
How much it kills me.
I now know,
Why unrequited love is considered the most painful thing,
Anyone has to deal with.
Constant worry,
Frantic pacing.
Should I take the risk,
Of getting hurt again?
Or should I crawl under a rock,
And just let you pass me buy?
My heart is so shattered,
That I couldn't bare for you to break it.
It would become irreparably damaged.
I guess the best and worst things happen the quickest.
We have only known each other a short time,
And yet the word love races through my mind.
I wish that it didn't.
I wish I could just move on,
Forget,
And leave you behind.
But deep in my soul,
I know that would hurt worse than rejection.
