Noyoki's Journal Thingy
A journal of something or other.
Ripped from Livejournal (Nov 29, 2005)
I got slightly drunk on thanksgiving - drinking too much Miller Lite on an empty stomache. I think I'm an amusing drunk though, I was talking to a dog at one point. (At least I remember what I did!) Ok, so maybe not really drunk, just buzzed enough that it felt funny when I moved fast. I did like the drinking game I played though, I think it was called Quarters - you bounce a quarter on the table and try to land it in a cup of beer (or whatever you drinking) the cups are clustered at the center of the table with just a bit of the drink in them, in the middle is a full one - if you land the quarter in the middle cup everyone drinks theirs as fast as they can, the last one to finish has to drink the middle one too. (Landing the quarter in a person's cup means they have to drink and you get another turn bouncing the quarter.) Good times, good times.

The dinner was rather dissapointing though; there wasn't much of it (since it was bought on donation money from the attendee's and on a sergeant's salary, which isn't much) and the cooking really wasn't up to what I'm used to with my father's skills.

I did finally watch The Incredibles, it's a fantastic movie and very funny. I should get that DVD.

So, on to other things. Work is blah - most of the shop, nay, practically all of it except for our gunnys, two corprals a few lance corprals and us new guys is off on an exercise until sometime next week - so basically we're undermanned with the same workload. Oh well. And checking in is a pain, we had to get more shots the other day - that and today we had to do a urine test, get a flu shot* and fill out an equal oportunity survey. The last three were the entire company though, so I don't feel too bad.

*On Flu shots - I think they're stupid, and I really don't like what goes into them. You're injecting imobile influenza bacterium of a mutation strain that likely will not even be the next strain that becomes this years epidemic. It's stupid - I survived the infectious cespit of highschool without getting the flu or taking flu shots. All you have to do is wash your friggin' hands and you're practically immune to it. I really don't like how it's cultured either - growing bacteria in a chicken egg is all fine and dandy until you want to use a needle to shoot it inside of me. That and the corpsman that did the injection made me bleed, again. I swear I have never bled as much from needles in me as I have since joining the Marines, before then the doctors never left me bleeding from a stupid shot.

On to other things again. Writing. Er - haven't been doing as much as that as I would like. I got a new notebook today - a tougher one, the old one fell apart after a mere three months of abuse. So this time I went for the more expensive and hardier version. I'm having problems writing in my room - mostly because it seems the thing lately to have not only my roommates here, but their friends in here all afternoon and evening too, so this tiny room is getting crowded - all of them sitting next to me because it's the only table in the room and the center of all the computer stuff. I like to be alone when I write, or at least have the illusion of being so - I guess I'll have to start retreating to the lounge to write (there are plug-ins for my laptop in there, but I might stick with a notebook) just to get away from the throng.

I figured out the pattern for my new begining chapters though. Chapter one was Stage Setting and Proposal - chapter two will be Settling into the New Life and Learning the Ropes, chapter three is The Good Life and Careers in House Robbery, chapter four will probably be Betrayal and Dark Turnings, chapter five will be Escape and Evasion. This probably makes little to no sense to you - but I don't have chapter plans/synopsis things yet (I might do that, but I doubt it) so there you go. After chapter five will be much the same as the old version with the exception that Gorroth is going to play a more prominent role (so I can show his decline more clearly and gradually, rather than the Big Event at the end of section one coming from nowhere) and I took away his noble Blood, but left him wealthy, highly respected and able to travel in the highborn circles.

Long post, yay. Now I need to get back to coming up with the members of the gang Mirra joins.
