The war has come to my backyard.
Ok, I need to give a little bit of background here, and I need to get my opinon off my chest. Durring Gino's party and the grunny invasion, there sprung up quite a lot of unsavory behavior. It had two forms: so called "leeching" and so called "eliteism". Grunnys were drawn to packs, so in order to catch one, you had to follow someone who had more then you. This mean that people who had lots og grunnys had to search harder to find people with more then them. In order to actually move forward with their collecting, they began to sequester themselves off into private rooms and enforcing grunny counts at the doors. Thus, everywhere you went in the mansion, you were greeted with signs saying "80+ Grunnys Only Please." etc. This was actually quite a good idea in that similarly "leveled" people could work together and make progress. Problem arose though that some people thought that these rooms, and the people in them, were merely being elitests. So lower "level" people started sneeking into the higher level rooms, trying to get a fast boost up and just to rankle the others. Thus was born the H2K5 Leechers and Elitests.
My personal thoughts on this are this: the events this Halloween were great.I had a good time. However, a lot of s**t went down. Leechers were disrespectful of the higher grunny collecters. Higher collectors were rude to newcomers and leechers alike. There was a lot of flaming flying in both directions. The Elitests (I don't like calling them that) thought it was all the leechers fault that the party sucked. The leechers thought visa versa. The end result was a throughly trashed mansion at the end of the party. Its no wonder the place caught fire. stressed
This leads into my current situation, I promise. Today you see, something quite strange happened at the Barton Fountian. Santa Claus, of all people, came out and made a speech to Gaia, saying that whole travisty that was H2K5 was all Jack's fault. Santa claimed that Jack had been the force behind all the eliteism. He claimed that he would give Gaia a far better holiday. He was in the middle of proclaiming this when Jack showed up.
When I heard Cindy announce on the news that Santa would be speaking at the Barton Fountian, I snuck up onto the roof of Ian's shop (where I could see the events, hear Santa's speach, be out of the huge croud, and keep an eye on Ian and Sasha, all at once). I was getting a real kick out of the whole event. I mean, Santa? The real bonafide Santa? Gaia is the only world I've ever been to (and I've been to quite a few) where the mythical holiday figures actually existed. So yeah, I was haveing a great time up on the roof.
Then Jack showed up. Santa made some wimpy challenge (I think they must have history) and Jack totally pounded him. I haven't seen someone taken out with a move like that in a long time. Great power moves aside, man, I felt it. I felt the poor Santa guy go past. And where did he go?
Straight into the Directory Building. ((Linklist. Bear with this. Its roleplay.)) Freaks me out. I mean, that's right across the street from me. And here I though buildings only got blown up in other people's towns. Goes to show just how long I've been out of my buisness. It really shouldn't shock me, considering the crazy adventures I've gone on in my day. But since I've come to Gaia, after the Yarnball, I've gotten really soft and comfy in my cute little Barton. I mean, Barton is like the Paris of Gaia, with all its parks and culture and old architecture.
But ******** this rumination. Meredith lives in that little house next to the Directory. I need to go check and see if she's alright, and if her house sustained much damage.
