Buried alive during the 15th century by a group of Pirates.
He was a Shaman, and a spiritualist/necromancer. He used his dying breath to cast a spell, a spell to come back so that he could claim revenge on those who wronged him.
But, he slipped up on the final word, causing his time of revival to be 600 years in the future, instead of 5 years. He is now hunting the descendants of those pirates.
He wears the bandanna as a sign of his duty, and his eyes and mouth had slowly rotted, hence the blindfold and facial mask.
