I had that damn dream again.
Bradley and I are on the docks. I’ve just learned that he has betrayed not only myself but the entire police force. When I ask him why, he doesn’t answer. So I shoot him. As he’s falling into the Hudson, I can just barely hear him say a name.

It’s late December 1979, and I’m freezing my butt off out here on the open road since my car heater’s broken. I have a pounding headache thanks to a bit too much booze last night. None of this is helping my mood, obviously.
Rachel just paged me, so now I’m pulling up to a gas station to use the pay phone while my car refuels. Ed’s got a new job for me. Apparently, I’ve got to go to some place called Hotel Dusk and pick up a package there with some items for me to sell, along with an order list of things I gotta pick up. Great.
As I’m driving to the hotel, I pass something that catches my interest. A girl, a teenager at most, with long blonde hair and wearing almost nothing but a simple, long, white dress. She says and does nothing, and I drive by. She’s probably waiting for somebody anyways…
