Dark Night

The dark night.
Blackness all around.
It’s a new moon tonight.
The stars will not shine their light on us.
We are lost.

Lost in this wilderness.
Nobody will come for us.
They will not try to find us.
No officials.
No normal people will come out.
Nobody will come.

Now it is me,
The monster got the others.
It’s now coming for me.
Only if I escape,
I could survive
Through this unforgiving night
And get out of these woods.

These woods are not on my side.
They shift and turn the paths,
Into long, confusing ways that make you stay.
They don’t want you to leave.
They like making you go with their game.
Moving one piece at a time,
Until they make either pieces collide or one escapes.

The path just ended,
With the monster at the entrance to the world behind.
I guess this is the end of my struggle through the woods.
I’ll just sit and watch it come close for its final blow to kill.

It comes moving with sorrowful eyes.
Its teeth comforts my neck.
And taking in my last breath,
I knew that the monster thought,
“You were close to living on.”
The monster’s teeth closed.
