The Sound Of Bells Chapter 2


Miranda paced back and forth in front of Konoha’s gate. “I know she will be here any minute….I can feel it.” She muttered to herself. She smiled wide when she felt three low, but still dangerous chakras. She gasped when they finally walked through the gates. The looked like they were wresting with bulls! “SAKURA!!!” Sakura’s tired eyes raised to see her sister about to tackle her. “Miranda, no stop! Stop! Please no, stay awa-they both crashed to the ground and Sakura hissed in pain. “WHAT TOOK YOU GUYS SO LONG!!!!” Miranda yelled at her sister then noticed the kunai that was stabbed deep in her shoulder. “Onee-chan, what happened?” Xavier pulled Miranda off Sakura. “She needs medical attention and she will be good as new.” Miranda nodded slowly and then forgot all about her sister when her eyes landed on her crush Aron. “A-Aron”, she stuttered. He smiled at her shyness, “hello Miranda.” Xavier laughed as Miranda walked away with Aron talking about how he should be careful on missions. He quickly dodged a rock that was thrown so hard it would have taken off his head if it hit him. “Sakura! What was that for, are you crazy!?” “Finally someone noticed, are you going to help up and get me to a hospital before I bleed to death or not?” He frowned and helped her up and they made their way to the hospital.

-Hospital-
“XAVIER-KUN!!!!” Xavier winced as the nurse named Ami latched herself onto his arm and knocking Sakura to the floor. “Oh, Xavier-kun I’ve missed you sooo much!” He tried to scrape her off his arm but she wouldn’t budge. “Ami get off me.” He gritted through his teeth. “Sakura is injured and I need to get her healed.” Ami sneered, “is she so weak that she cant take care of herself? No wonder her mom and dad got killed. Sh- Ami yelped as Sakura had her slammed into a wall in a matter of seconds. “Don’t you dare talk about my family like you know what happened.” Sakura hissed enraged in Ami’s face. “You know what, I don’t think anyone will miss you if I kill you right now.” Before she could do anything Xavier hit a pressure point on her neck and caught her as she slumped to the floor. He picked her up bridal style and walked away, then he tilted his head to the side and whispered dangerously, “Next time I won’t stop her when she wants to kill you.” Ami gulped and slid down the wall shaking. “Xavier-san please come with me I have a room prepared for her.” A small nurse said quietly. He followed her and then laid the unconscious Sakura down on the bed. He sat down in a chair by the bed and watched with half lidded eyes as the medics patched her wounds and before he knew it he was unconscious. He awoke thanks to his ninja senses and before his mind could catch up with his body he had someone pinned under him with a kunai at their neck. He looked closer as his eyes adjusted to the dark. “I will let you freeze next time.” Sakura huffed angrily from under him. “Huh?” He said not understanding what she meant by that. “I was giving you a blanket because you were shivering and then you tried to kill me.” She wiggled underneath him. “Can I get up now?” He smirked at her angry expression and helped her up. “Sorry.” He said trying to hold back his laugh. She glared at him but couldn’t keep the smile from coming to her face. “Jerk.” She muttered darkly. He pretended not to hear her. “Why did you stay?” He looked at her like she had grown two heads. She huffed, “why did you stay here w-with me.” He smirked at her and replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world, “to make sure you were okay.” She blushed and looked away. “Oh, well um thanks.” She ignored the cocky smirk that had spread across his face when she blushed and climbed back in bed. “Erm goodnight.” He smiled and set back down. “Goodnight Sakura.”

-morning-

“ONEE-CHAN, WAKE UP!!!” She winced at the loud voice of her crazy sister. “MIRANDA YOUR IN A HOSPITAL SHUT UP AND HAVE SOME RESPECT!” Tsunade yelled angrily at Miranda. “BUT BAA-CHAN IF YOU WOULD HEAL THEM INSTEAD OF DRINKING THEN WE WOULDN’T HAVE THAT PROBLEM!” Tsunade put the screaming Miranda in a head lock. “WHY YOU LITTLE BRAT!” Sakura rubbed her temples blocking out their bickering. Geez why are they so loud she thought bitterly. Then she smiled widely as she made a clone and jumped out the window. She looked back at the hospital as she got farther away man its good to be a ninja she thought happily as she made her sweet escape.

-training grounds-

“Aw come on Xavier its no fair when you use your huge sword!” Aron yelled. Xavier smirked. “Even if I didn’t use my sword I’d still beat you.” Aron pulled on a smirk to match Xavier’s. “Wanna make it a bet?” Xavier raised an eyebrow. “What do you want to bet on?” Aron smiled evilly. “Whoever loses has to run through konoha naked.” Xavier choked and then put his game face on. “Deal.” “Ready, set, fight!” Xavier dodged a spike that came up from the ground. Then he made four clones that went at Aron on all sides. He killed the first two but was thrown into a tree by the other. “Crap!” He muttered as he dodged and killed the last clone. He then turned and dodged just in time to avoid Xavier lunging at him with a kunai. He then twisted Xavier’s arm around and had the kunai at his neck. “Ha ha Xavier looks like Sakura is gonna get an eye full.” He laughed out loud. “I wouldn’t be so sure Aron.” Aron’s eyes widened as the genjutsu that he failed to notice melt away. He heard Xavier laugh behind him darkly and he felt the cold tip of a kunai at his neck. “You lose.”

-Sakura’s house later that day-

“Oi, bring me some lemonade.” Sakura called from the front porch swing. She grabbed the glass as Miranda sat beside her on the swing. “Thank you.” They both sat there staring out at the road watching people pass when both fell out of their chairs when a stark naked Aron ran through the crowd away from an angry mob. “My eyes! They burn!” Sakura yelled in pain. Miranda laid on the ground with hearts in her eyes. Truly they would never be the same…
