Names
Okay, as far as your first name or middle name (if you have one) goes, pretty much anything is acceptable. Just don't try to name yourself Legolas or Aeris or Vash or something; I will reject it.
Surnames are a different story. They tend to run along either the adjective/noun or noun/verb lines. And they sound like evil hippie names. Things like Darkwinter, Blackforest, Songthrasher, Windreaper, and so on.
Background
Your character is of a modest background. You are not royalty, you are not an elf, you are not a ninja, a samurai, a pirate, or a famous musician. You are a common peasant, and while you may be pretty, or strong, you are no great beauty or mountain of muscle.
Starting inventory
You are not a wealthy person! You probably only have one shirt and one or two pairs of pants. You may not have shoes or gloves at all. What you have is probably wool or cotton. At best they will be rough leather, at worst your pants will be your only clothes (girls will of course have a shirt).
Starting funds
Roll 2d6 or 3d4 to determine how much copper you have. One player will randomly be awarded a silver.
