Non-existent
Hi. Welcome to the Journal of Non-existentness.
Roleplay Setting
Somehow, you've managed to get yourself on an island. A rather small island. It lacks a dock, or a bay, or any sort of mooring area. Looking out over the horizon, all you can see is water. No ships or boats come near the island. The island is impossible to land on anyway, seeing as there is a coral reef surrounding the island, making any boats unable to come within twenty metres of land.

The beaches are not covered in fine sand, like one would hope for. They instead have rocks and stones going beyond the edge of the water, which eventually fade out and turn into the coral reef. Rock pools are very common, bearing bright, quirky sea life in the small pools of water.

The beach ends five metres from the high tide point, fifteen from low tide. A thin line of trees separates the beach from the rest of the island. It could not be called a forest, for it is only a few metres thick, populated with thin trees that provide sparse shade.

Immediately, upon exiting the forest, one may come across farmland. About 2 hectares wide, and running a ring around the island, this provides food for the island. The first signs of human habitation start to appear now. There's the occasional farmhouse, with crops of wheat, corn, and vegetables surrounding them. There is even a winery on one part of the island. The roads are narrow, barely wider than a footpath. Not wide enough for cars, even though tractors can be seen around the place.

The next layer of the island would be the town, and not a very large one at that. This is where the greatest percentage of humans, and otherwise, live. It features modern-day townhouses. Very rarely will you see a freestanding house, on a quarter-acre block of land. The streets are narrow, with motorbikes, scooters, and other small forms of transport seen parked on the sides. All your typical amenities are here, although not too many people are sure how they can exist, without contact from the rest of the world.

The further you get in, the richer and grander the property. At the very middle of the island is the heart of the island community. A castle, monolithic compared to even the grandest house. A narrow but deep mote runs close along the castle walls, crocodiles and other, more scarier monsters inhabiting its depths. Some people believe that the island is floating in the water, and that this mote is connected to the oceans around.

The castle houses the main head of the island. He himself likes to be called King, and not too many people are sure of him actually existing, for no one sees him. His highest nobles, and alleged "family" live in the castle, along with the servants and maids that keep the place looking better than everywhere else.

There are no lakes on this island, and yet there is fresh water running through the taps. There is never any sunlight, for it is always cloudy, and yet the crops grow as if they have seen perfect weather. The temperatures are perfect, and yet the sea is as rough as any mid ocean. What kind of place could this be?

And how do you get off?
