Your bed is comfortable to sleep under
Chapter 5: Happiness
“Say Sarah! Where’s Demitry today?” Ashley asked, light voice filled with concern.
“He’s staying home today, he’s been having weird spasms lately…” She sighed softly, pushing her hair behind her ear.
“Ahh, I see. Tell him that I hope he feels better, it’s no fun being bed ridden.” She smiled lightly, trying to keep her mind steady.
“All right, I will.”
“See you.”
Sarah sighed heavily. It wasn’t as fun without Demitry around. Everybody seemed to ask her but why wouldn’t they? She was his sister. She almost felt like skipping one of her classes, to go home early and help her brother out.
Her father refused to let him go to the hospital, as with any other time that he was in a critical condition. Gashes, wounds, broken bones, the whole nine yards, her father refused to let his son go to the hospital. It was always the same ‘special’ doctor. As far as she was concerned, Demitry didn’t have, well, ‘special’ needs.
Letting out a sigh, she grabbed her bag, biting her lower lip as she did so, closing her locker. She passed her history room, then took a step back, then groaned. She never skipped classes. That was Demitry. She huffed and then headed back to her original route, taking one of the unused and rarely even open exits to the school. It wasn’t that much of a walk to her home, and Demitry would be waiting for her, it wasn’t that hard.
She kept walking keeping her focus, and once she was off school grounds, she was happy. She’d probably end up in the principals office tomorrow for skipping, but at the moment, she was proud of herself that she didn’t end up there now.
“Where are you going Sarah?” A voice asked from behind her. Her eyes went wide and she swallowed. She was off school grounds, it couldn’t have been a staff member, could it have?
“Sarah, answer me.” She turned, then released a held breath. It was only Apollo.
“Oh, I’m going home. I’m not feeling that well, but I didn’t want to get my mom up here, she’s busy…” She trailed off when Apollo closed the distance in only a few strides. It almost seemed as if he were gliding.
“I see. So you and Demitry are going to be sick together?”
“Well, I—“ She was cut off by his hand, warm and soft on her chin.
“You can tell me what’s going on Sarah.” He whispered his voice almost like an angel.
“I don’t really know… I just need to take care of Demitry. The last time he was home alone he ended up getting himself cut really bad.” She sighed, her voice soft. For her, it was almost terrifying for Apollo to be so close to her, to be holding her like this.
“I see.” He repeated, leaning in towards her. “Maybe, I should come with you then, after you let me do something first, that is.”
“And what would that be?”
“Fifteen seconds of your time, all right?”
“What would you do in fifte—“
She was cut off again, but this time not by his hand, his mouth. He had pressed his lips to hers, a moment just there, and then the next, she could feel him parting her lips, moving in gentle and quick movements like water. The next few moments were almost aggressive, as if he were just giving himself to her, pressing as close as he could to her.
And in all of the chaos, she found herself kissing him back.
Her thoughts had dimmed down, asking herself why she was outside of school, why she was kissing Apollo, why she was going to see Demitry. She found pleasure, joy, happiness, everything in his kiss, and when Apollo pulled away, though he did so in a slow movement, she found herself wanting more of that kiss. She opened her eyes, hardly realizing that she had closed them, that she had pressed up to Apollo just as much as he had her. Her arms were around his neck, and he had one arm around her waist, pressing the small of her back, the other tangled in her auburn hair.
“If you’d like, you can have another fifteen…” She finally spoke, a blush enveloping her face.
“Maybe I should take you to your house first.” He laughed softly, giving her another soft kiss, but this one ended quickly.
“Does this mean, we’re… you know, boyfriend girlfriend?” She asked, arching a brow, something she’d learned from Demitry, but hardly made the motion as much as he did.
“I think that would describe us very well, if I do say so.” He smiled and angelic smile and she found herself smiling back.
Sarah felt rather happy, though couldn’t wait now to tell Demitry, he’d be happy too, she knew it.
