What Pain Feels Like
You once asked me if I knew what pain felt like,
Yes,
I know what pain feels like.
When your heart just feels like it just took a big leap off a cliff,
It hurts,
It might only be mentally,
But it still hurts,
A lot,
And you have no idea what to do.
Pain is like taking medicine,
But instead of getting better you get worse,
‘cause you always see the thing that gives you pain everyday,
And you have no idea what to do,
You feel helpless,
Unconfident,
Confused,
And you look for answers why,
But you never find the answer.
Pain,
It’s like a wound,
But in your heart,
And it never heals.
It just stays there,
Growing larger and larger every minute,
And you want it to go away,
But it never does.
You once asked me if I knew what pain felt like,
And I gave you my answer.
