I gave blood today *nods*
For the very fist time! I was a VIRGIN~!

I'm a bit funny at the moment, so I'll probably edit and post the details later biggrin

8.10pm Saturday Oct 1st

Ok, I'm feelin' all good now razz

Well. Let's start my day at the beginning. Well, enough of a beginning as I can think of razz
It was a dark and stormy night... Ok, a rainy Friday morning.
I, as usual... Well, not that usual, had decided to set my alarm for 7am, and get up at 7am. I didn't. I instead hit the snooze button for the next two and a half hours. My alarm is on the other side of the room - and goes off every 9 minutes - so I have to get out of bed, hit the snooze button and climb back into bed. I DID IT FOR TWO AND A HALF HOURS! surprised I'm such a d**k.

Well, I was late for my first class (needless to say - it started at 9.50 I think), before I left the house razz

By the time I'd left, it was around 10.30, I walked from my house to the bus stop, and then swore loudly. There were no buses for half an hour. I then decided to deviate from my usual routine of bus-catching, and walked the 25-minute walk into town smile
As I was wandering through town, bopping along to Frankenprun, with the hugest iced coffee I could buy from GJ's, I heard people yelling - though through my headphonnes it was rather like someone yellling into a pilow.
I (somehow) heard someone thundering up behind me, it was a friend of mine, running after me to catch my attention! Ah *le sigh* I hadn't seen him for a little while, so I was happy biggrin And then, coming up the rear were some more friends - *ahem* skipping class... I was only late at this point, mind you wink

So we went of to the food court over the other side of town and had a late breakfast/thing, and I left my stuff with my friends there and escorted a rather ill friend to the bus stop - we did this very covertly because she was supposed to be at work and had called in sick - don't get me wrong, she was sick, but had called from her mobile - thus they thought she was at home. Well, after I had said my farewells and given the goodbye hugs, I wandered back to the food court... I grabbed my wallet and ran out to the florist nearby... I purchased two helium balloons razz One purple (for me) and one pink - for my snuzzly gf biggrin Well, she's sorta my girfriend, more like "Friends with benefits" razz Uh, a kanoodlyfriend razz So there we are, Neeta, me, Nay and Leeshy biggrin Leesha is down from NSW for a few weeks smile She moved up at the end of last year and we miss her so! Oh, she's dating Nay, she he and she were happy not doing the long distance thing for once biggrin

I took one look at them and ran back out to the florist and bought her and Nay one - a blue oe for Weesha, and a red one for Nay, their fave colours *whee* So. Then Neet asks me in a casual way if I'd like to go and give blood with them, and of course I said yes! It was at least a good excuse for missing my first class (time has passed, I'm not late for my second class razz )... So we wander up to the Red Cross - passing the sushi shop. I make a mental note to buy some when we're done biggrin
So, we get to the Red Cross, and start filling out those forms... Woah. LOTSA forms razz
*blahblah form filling out "are you pregnant?" "have you travelled overseas lately" "do you have HIV?"*

I answered no to all those quezzies, BTW razz

They give me lots o' juice before hand. >insert urgent need for the loo here<

Ok, now all the forms are filled out, I'm asked to follow this lovely lady biggrin I'm weighed surprised I'm much heavier than I thought I was O.o And then I am taken to, uh, an examination room? Well, she asks about all the questions that I put adverse answers to - "have you had surgery?" "have you had a tattoo/body piercing in the last 12 months" you know the type razz Oh, I had surgery when I was about one hand a half from choking on peanuts razz And the piercing one? Well, you all know that - it's in one of my entries razz I had the final piercing done in my ear! Ok, final for now razz

I had my blood pressure taken with one of those automoated ones - surprised That was actually painful xD
And then she took my haemoglobin levels with those things diabetics use - the pricking of the finger, and then the blood stuck in a slide thing and popped into a machine smile
All is ok! surprised

And then I'm led out to those dentist chair things and plugged in!
Details: Well, I'm sitting there, strangely calm razz It's how I handle stress, I calm down xD
And then she puts a blood pressure thing on my arm, and pumps it up biggrin She then coats the crook of my right arm with green stuff (antiseptic, I suppose) and sticks in the needle! That didn't actually hurt much smile It went away after about 10 seconds, and then it was just an ache smile and as I was settling the headphones from Frankenprun into my ears, I had failed to notice I had been fully plugged in, and that blood was being siphoned off! It was so cool surprised
So there I am, with a tube in my arm, watching Neet being plugged in opposite me - she's SUPER afraid of needles, so I sung "Magical Trevor I" to her biggrin She giggled so much for didn't notice the needle going in smile She's so brave - though the had to have her 'donating arm' covered with a piece of stuff so she couldn't see it razz
My fingers went all cold, so I had to wiggle them in funny ways to get the blood to flow into them razz It was a strange experience razz

Then I started beeping.

I couldn't believe it! It was all over! 10 minutes in the chair and it was all done! Anticlimactic razz Then the lady took some vials of blood to do some tests on, and then I was unplugged (the needle coming OUT hurt more than it going in) and sent to a sort of recovery room, where they gave me more juice! >insert URGENT loo need here<
I munched on some minties while waiting for Neet and Nay to finish - Leesha couldn't go through with it sad But we hope she will next time! Oh yes, there will be a next time darlin'

So there we are, with out bandages of honour, wandering through town (it is now about 1.10 I have missed my second class - my last class starts at 2)
We wandered to the bus stop and said goodbye to Nay and Leesha, and hop abouard the number 31.
We do a slightly wavering walk down the hill to Newstead from the bustop, and laugh at the pitiful umbrella I have for the both of us. I put the umbrella away and we enjoy the rain. It's nearing 2pm by the time we reach school, so we wander straight to our respective classes - which is good, because out classrooms are next to each other on this line smile

In between us going to class I've done a mad dash to the loos razz Ah, so refreshing wink I got some strange looks walking to the loos witha balloon, though xD

So there I am, almost falling asleep in Info Sys. I'm not sure if that was the bolood loss, or Murray talking. Which ever it was... We are doing spreadsheets *snore* at the moment.

So, the rest of the day is uneventful...

Though we did go to my Grandmas and had some lovely Indian curry of some sort for dinner smile She makes lovely curries heart It was amazing how hungry I was! surprised

I then realised something, something so important to me:

I HAD FORGOTTEN TO BUY SUSHI! surprised surprised surprised I could have kicked myself.
