Role Play Starters

The sun was bright and warm overhead, casting its bright rays over the trees of the forest. Underneath the canopy of trees, it was cooler than outside, for the trees branches made a nice bit of shade on the forest path. A woman walked on this path. An elf with long blue-black hair and pale eyes that seemed to pierce into everything she looked at. Her smooth skin glowed in the suns light as it peeks through the tree’s leaves as she walked. Her footsteps made very little noise as she moved. She was an elfin maiden traveling alone in the forest. She’d rather be alone and risk possible danger than stay in her current village much longer. She just had to get away. Her mother and father where always nagging her to go to court, but she had no wish to. She just wanted to be herself, not some stuck up court elf that thought they where better than everyone else, or that they had special privileges.

This woman was known as Evony, for her mother blessed her with such a name the day of her birth that took place centuries ago. Ever since then, she had been told that she had this gentleness about her. Of course, Evony could never harm anyone, even if they meant to do her harm. She had much too gentle of a heart. Evony stopped her walking and crouched by a flower bush. Stop to smell the roses, they always said. She picked one, smelling it with a smile on her face. It seemed that she was alone in this forest, but was she?

Pain. It’s an interesting feeling. The way all your nerve endings seemed to scream all at once. The girl opened her gray eyes, but had to close them suddenly at the weak light that had hit them. Where was she? She couldn’t remember much, only pain and black. The girl tried once again to open her eyes slowly, and succeeded this time. She couldn’t see much. The room was so dark that her eyesight was very limited. She was against a wall of some sort, and her wrists were bound together by some restraint. The girl’s heart suddenly jumped in the back of her throat and she looked about her frantically. What… what happened. She was walking home… but that’s all she could remember. Did she get jumped on her way home? From the looks of it, she did. The woman was called Lynn, a graduated high school student who loved to read. She had gone to the library, but she didn’t make it home.

Her parents must be so worried. Lynn’s heart raced in her chest so fast that she thought it would burst from her person at any given moment. She really wished that the room wasn’t so dark so she could at least see what kind of a room she was in. The fear of not knowing only made the pain in her head worse. From the pain, she guessed that she was struck in the back of the head by an unknown person. And that person was probably the one who was responsible for her current condition and placement. A sudden noise made her jump; the sound of metal on metal. After a second, a door seemed to open, the metal bottom grinding against the concrete and light flooded the room, forcing Lynn to close her eyes. Who was it?

The night was silent, the wind making the only noise when it made the tree’s leaves rustle slightly. The woman crouched at the top of the building; her golden eyes scanning all around her had her pale silver hair whipped about in the wind. Her new target was going to pass this way, and when he did, she would kill him and collect her money. The woman was an assassin, and a well known one named Vivian. She was often nicknamed shadow due to how she could slip in and out as if she was not there. She was known for her quick killing techniques. It was often believed that the target never even knows she’s there, or that they have been killed. Of course she could make it to where that know and get frightened, but that commonly causes unwanted reactions, like screaming and running for their life. It was enough work to track her targets down, so she didn’t want to have to chase them once she had already pointed them out. It was just some more unnecessary work on her part.

Vivian was quite surprised on how much her client had paid of this one to be taken down. She had only received such a payment, or a promise of such a payment, only a few other times in her career, and the targets had been some big major hot shot. One time her target was a fellow assassin that she had once worked with on a double team mission to take out a group of targets. Vivian cared little who she was ordered to kill, as long as she got paid. There where many times that she had finished the job, but the client refused to pay her. This resulted in the death of the client, and his whole family as well. Vivian was so off one her own day dreams that she nearly missed the sight of a man coming into view, his profile matching the description and picture. Her target had arrived.
