Characters: Hayes, a seventeen year old boy who was bitten by a werewolf and placed on the island. When he transforms into his wolf form he grows furry black ears on the top of his head, a long black tail, and large, retractable fangs and claws. He is caring and devoted but also secretive and to himself. He is also very loyal and protective.
Sam, a sixteen year old girl who was also bitten by a werewolf and put on the island at the same time as Hayes. When she transforms she grows furry light brown ears, a light brown tail and also large, retractable fangs and claws. She is shy and timid with strangers but tough and outgoing when she needs to be. She is very sarcastic with Hayes and loves to mess with him. She also loves a good practice fight or race. She met Hayes on the island where they plotted their escape from the island.
Time: Present day. Early afternoon.
(Hayes and Sam are sitting inn the clearing leaning up against some large trees, they are still in wolf form)
Hayes
Your nails are long, but I like them
Sam
(she laughs) So are yours (points at his nails)
Hayes
(holds them up) I prefer to call them claws
Sam
Technically, mine are claws too
Hayes
Well I just thought you'd rather have them be nails ( he laughed kind of embarrassed)
Sam
Ugh! No claws are much better!
Hayes
(laughs) Yeah and they're so much more useful (turns around and scratches a long line into the tree bark)
Sam
Yeah you can’t really take down a deer with puny, thin, breakable nails.
Hayes
(shakes his head) Not even close to possible, or with normal teeth either.
Sam
Yeah you got to have fangs like ours (flashes her fangs)
Hayes
Well duh! Fangs are awesome (flashes his fangs as well)
Sam
True, so very true (she laughs)
Hayes
That reminds me, I'm hungry (he stands up)
Sam
OK, me too, shall we? (She stands up also)
Hayes
Well there's a herd of Bull Elk over that hill or we could go into town and grab a quick bite (he smiles deviously)
Sam
(rolls her eyes) Lets go with the elk, I'd rather not be known for mass murder.
Hayes
Oh come on, we could share just one (he pleaded laughing)
Sam
No, now lets go hunt those stupid elk before they hear us coming!
Hayes
(he sighed) OK fine, ill race you!
Sam
you’re on!
Hayes
On your mark....get set....GO!
(They both take off running and go for the same bull, they both bring it down)
Sam
Hey! That was mine!
Hayes
NO! I got it first!
Sam

Hayes
you want to fight me for it? Go ahead and try!
Sam
(she growled) OK, but it’s your neck!
Hayes
I seriously doubt that!

Oh yeah? You think you’re better than me?
Hayes
(he smirked) way better

Well lets just test your little theory!

(They both lunge at each other, in the air they collide, Sam knocks Hayes down and pins him to the ground)
Sam
You were saying? (She smirked)

that’s so not fair, I wasn't ready!

Make up as many excuses as you want, I still beat you!

No way! You obviously cheated!

oh yeah? How?

Um-mm...I'm not sure, but I know you did!
Sam
(Rolls eyes) Oh yeah I cheated at a fist fight with you. Why would I need to cheat, when it’s so easy to beat you anyway?
Hayes
(He squirmed under her) I what a rematch!
Sam
(She jumps off him) Anytime, anywhere!
Hayes
(Stands up) Here and now!
Sam
Alright, but can you keep up? (She smiles smugly)
Hayes
You bet I can!
(Hayes lunges but Sam dodges out of the way. Then she doubles back and head butts him in the side, sending him sprawling to the ground)
Sam
How do you you like them apples (she snickered)
Hayes
(He scowled) your fast I'll give you that much. (He stood up
, looked away, and then lunged at her, throwing her off guard. He pined her to the ground and knocked the wind out of her)
Sam
I...I thought w...we were done (she gasped)
Hayes
(He snickered) I like these apples just fine
Sam
Gosh! You’re such a jerk! (She wiggled out of his grasp)
Hayes
Hey! Takes one to know one!
Sam
(She scowled and transformed back to her human self to show she was done fighting. Hayes was momentarily distracted by a bird, Sam launched herself at him and grabbed him) look who's at a loss now, the more you struggle, the more you lash out and if you lash out your just going to hurt my frail human body (she said the last part with a baby-talk tone and laughed)
Hayes
Now that's not fair (he transformed into his human form and slipped from her grasp) now let’s have a real fist fight!
Sam
Bring it!
(Hayes tried to punch her but she blocked him with her arm, then she through a punch strait for his gut. She landed a good punch and Hayes hit the ground, she stood over him)
Sam
Just admit that girls can be just as tough as guys
Hayes
....girls......tough.....guys.... (He muttered)
Sam
What? I'm sorry I can't hear you, will you repeat that?
Hayes
Girls can be just as tough as guys! There are you happy now?
Sam
(She smirked) yeah pretty much (she reached out her hand to help him up)
Hayes
Fine (he huffed) lets go home, they might be looking for us
Sam
The only people looking for us are the cops, remember, we can't go home. If we were caught they'd throw us back on that stupid island with everyone else! (She turned around and punched a tree, scraping her knuckles on the rough bark)
Hayes
Oh right, I forgot that we were wanted criminals (he sighed) but as long as they don't catch us, were fine.
Sam
Our pictures are up all over town, both forms! How could we let this happen?! Why are they doing something so stupid?! Do they really think we're going to bite someone? To put them through what we're going through! (She put her head against the tree angry tears streaming down her face)
Hayes
Hey! Hey! Don't worry we'll find someway out. We could just leave the city couldn't we? (He put his arms around her but she shook her head and pointed to her left ankle)
Sam
Y...you were asleep, we have invisible fences in us. If we leave the city limits we'll be shocked and found. (She sat down) They attached it to a main nerve, the shock could kill us, kill us! They don't care, It would be better for them if we were dead! Plus because it’s on that nerve there's no way of taking it out without losing the use of our legs! (She pulled her knees up to her chin, put her head down on top of then and wrapped her arms around her knees)
Hayes
I can't believe this...why didn't you tell me before?!
Sam
(Muttering through her knees) I didn't think it mattered before
Hayes
(He reached down to feel his ankle, whispering) I never would have guessed
Sam
That was the point; they didn't want us to know, so we wouldn't expect it when it happened
Hayes
(Sits down next to her) I can't believe they are really that cruel, I mean sticking us on that island so we couldn't bite people was reasonable. I mean since they didn't know we would still be us, but this....this is just wrong.
Sam
(Looks at him, whispering) So what do we do now?
Hayes
We need to find shelter for tonight, or possibly a while
Sam
(Stands up) I think I saw a cave a while back, that way (points in direction)
Hayes
(Stands up also) Alright let’s go check it out. Besides if its home to a bear or something, I think two wolves could flush it out (he smiled a toothy grin)
Sam
(Laughs) OK come on, this way (grabs his jacket sleeve and starts to pull him in the direction of the cave)
(They walk through the forest, careful of their surroundings, until they come upon the cave)
Sam
Aha! I knew it was here and by the stale scent, I'd say it’s abandoned. Let’s check it out! (She climbs into the cave and Hayes follows her hesitantly)
Hayes
Wow it’s actually pretty big in here (eyes the cave and puts pressure on the ceiling and walls) and sturdy too
Sam
(Lies down in a corner against the cave wall, Hayes walks over and sits next to her) Do you think there's anyway to take them out?
Hayes
(He sighs) I doubt it, especially if it’s on a main nerve, but there's always a Leopold, everything has one. We swam all the way here, so getting them wet doesn't do anything
Sam
(Sits up) Or biting them (she muttered, lifting up her pants leg to show rows of fresh scars around her ankle)
Hayes
(His eyes widen) When did you do that?! You could have been seriously hurt, you know that right?
Sam
(Looks at the ground, still muttering) I tried a few days ago back when we were still on the island, you were asleep, and I didn't want you to see. (Looks up at him on the brink of tears) I didn't know what to do! I was so confused! I got a front row seat to see everything they did to you! (Tears flowed down her cheeks, her voice quieted) It was so horrible, I was supposed to be out, but I don't know, maybe the anesthetic or tranquilizer doesn't work on me. Maybe I'm just defective, that's why they didn't test me, like they tested you.
Hayes
(Pulls her into his lap and holds her while she cries into his shoulder) shh....shh Sam shh... it's okay, your not defective, your perfect, your special, that's why it doesn't work. I bet they were waiting to test you, you know, save the best for last. (He stuttered trying to find the right words)
Sam
(Looks up at him and smiles) You know you really need to work on your comforting skills, that was the worst thing I've ever heard
(They both laugh)
Hayes
Okay, okay so we know I'm not so good at that
Sam
Definitely
Hayes
Hey! Alright, but really are you okay? (He looked down at her his voice full of concern)
Sam
(Nods weakly and looks at the ground) I guess I just really needed to get hat off my chest. It’s just.... I'll always have those memories, and I can’t get rid of them (she shakes her head sadly)
Hayes
(Tightens his grip on her) I know it’s hard, but when we get away from here and live our lives free, it will all be forgotten
Sam
(Laughs) Now that's the comforting I needed
Hayes
(Laughs also) well one out of two is good for me. Now how about we get some sleep?
(Sam nodded, climbed off his lap and sat next to him, her head on his shoulder. The night creeps in and its pitch black)
Man
(Still dark) Hey guys I found them both! Yeah together! Alright, I might need backup! Yeah I got it! OK, yeah, hurry! (The light creeps in and a man is standing at the entrance to the cave) Wakey! Wakey! Get up you mutts! I've got a little surprise for you!
Sam
(Opens her eyes slowly) huh....? What...? (Her eyes go wide and she jolts to her feet waking up Hayes)
Hayes
Huh? What’s wrong? (He yawns)
Sam
(Through her teeth) Get up, we've got company
Hayes
(Looks at the man and stumbles to his feet) who are you?
Man
Just a man with a very important mission, that just happens to involve you (he smiles deviously showing his yellow teeth)
Sam
What do you want from us? (She starts to shake slightly)
Man
There is nothing I want from you; I want you (he takes a few steps forward)
Hayes
(He takes a step in front of Sam and growls) You stay away from us! I'm warning you!
Man
(Stops and pulls a small devise from his back pocket, looks at it in front of his face) Have you ever seen one of these before? I don't think so. This little devise here will stun you, (his smile widened) and it will stop you from being able to transform. (He laughed demonically)
Sam
(Her eyes widen and she whispers to Hayes) Can it really?
Hayes
(He nodded solemnly) more than likely, you can tell he's not lying
Man
You are correct, now, you can come with me willingly, or I can use force, which do you prefer? (Hayes growled and snarled, the man sighed) I guess we have to do this the hard way (two other men enter the cave) you two grab the boy, I'll get the girl first (he laughed holding up the devise)
Hayes
(Growls louder, standing protectively in front of Sam) Over my dead body
Man
(Shrugs) That can be arranged if you wish (he snaps and one of the men takes out a gun) we have no use for you anyway, it's the girl we want (the man with the gun raises it toward Hayes head)
Sam
(Yelps and runs in front of Hayes) NO! No you can't! We'll go with you without force! Just please, please don't!
(The gun man lowers his gun and shrugs)
Man
Very well come along then (one man grabs Sam's arm and the other one grabs Hayes, Hayes narrows his eyes but follows reluctantly) Oh, and don't even think about escaping, the bars are super reinforced (he smiles) and tinted with silver (Hayes growls, but smiles at Sam and winks) We know your weakness do we not? (Sam nodded looking solemn) See? We are not to be trifled with (they walk forward out to a large van, the man opens the back doors and revels a large, bared cage) in you go! (He smiled and the man pushed them both into the cage and locked it) Now, just to make sure, we are going to drive along the border of the city, so if you do escape, its one step and you’re fried. (He smiled and both Sam and Hayes narrowed their eyes at him and with one last laugh her closed the back doors, climbed into the driver’s seat and started the car.)
(Sam looked around the cage, carefully touched one of the bars, looked at Hayes and then they both burst out laughing)
Hayes
Silver bars? Are they serious?!
Sam
I think they've been watching too many horror movies!
Hayes
I mean a silver spike in the heart maybe, but that would kill anyone, but bars tinted with silver? Now that's just insulting!
Sam
Not even that much silver either, look at this its like little shavings of silver (she pointed at the bars and laughed)
Hayes
Lame, now let’s get out of here before I die of laughter
Sam
(Sam nodded and with a smile she pulled the bars apart) Thank God for genetically enhanced wolf strength! (She laughed crawling through the bars)
Hayes
(Crawled out after her, stands up and bumps his head on the roof) Ow! Could they make these things any smaller? (He rubbed his head and Sam laughed)
Sam
Lets just get out of here (she looked out the back window) middle of nowhere, no cars behind, pretty much just open fields then the mountains.
Hayes
Then let’s jump for it! (He slammed his fist through the window and it shattered, the car stopped at an abrupt halt that sent Hayes and Sam flying into the bars of the cage)
Sam
Ow! They have no manners, they could have at least warned us! (She grumbled, the back doors were yanked open)
Man
I see you have somehow managed to escape my silver cage and were planning to escape the van, no doubt. There is one thing I think you forgot though (he smiled pulling out the devise) Forget about this? (Hayes growled and put his arm in front of Sam) You! Girl come forward! (The man motioned with his finger and took a step back from the van)
Hayes
(He growled) No way!
Sam
(Whispering) Hayes...its okay, they want me; you can make a run for it.
Hayes
(His jaw locked) No way, I'm not leaving you!
Sam
(Took his face in her hands) Listen, this could be your only chance to get out alive

(Looked into her eyes) I said I won’t leave you, I'd rather die

(Dropped her hands, looked away from his eyes and sighed) You’re so stubborn (she took a step forward and Hayes grabbed her wrist)

(she shook his hand off and walked forward, out of the van and onto the ground in front of him) what?
Man
(Laughed) Let’s have a look at you (he grabbed her face with one hand and turned her head back and forth, her hands clenched into fists beside her) uh huh, well, good, yes, yes, now... (He lifted the devise and touched it to her arm, she yelped and fell forward into him, and he laughed and tossed her to one of the other men) Tie her up (the men grabbed a few ropes and tied her hands together before she woke up)
Hayes
(he started to tremble) you....you (he growled and launched himself at the man, landing on top of him, throwing him to the ground and forcing away the devise) She better be alright! You better not have hurt her! (He punched the man in the face) I'll kill you! I swear I'll Kill you!
Sam
(Wakes up) Hayes....don’t...
Man
(Throws Hayes off and stumbles to his feet, looked around and a grim lit his face) Do you know where we are? The edge, the border, the city limit (his smile widened)
Sam
(Eyes wide) NO! Hayes no! Stay Back! NO! (She struggled against the ropes)
Man
(Laughs) I should have done this a long time ago! (He lunged forward and pushes Hayes over the side of the rode, Hayes froze, then fell backward and his whole body began to convulse)
Sam
(Crying) Hayes! Hayes no! Hayes says something!!
Man
(Laughs) your cries are worthless, he’s done for (Hayes convulsions began to slow until his body stopped moving all together, including his breathing)
Sam
(Crying harder) Hayes! Hayes! Answer me! (Struggles with the ropes) NO! NO! HAYES!!

(Still laughing) It is too late he’s gone! It’s your entire fault you do realize, all your fault! (The man snickered)
Sam
NO! NO! He’s not...he can't be...Hayes!! Hayes answer me!! Please Hayes!! Please.... (Her voice wavered and the man continued to laugh) No... (She looked up at him, her eyes narrow) I'll get you for this! You'll regret it! I swear!
Man
Just go ahead and try little lady, your stuck and you know it!
Sam
(Smiles) oh yeah? (She holds up the remains of the rope from behind her back) Easy, you think mere ropes can hold me? Ha! (She stood up transformed, the other two men tried to grab her but she grabbed both their heads and flung them together as hard as she could. They both fell to the ground, and she stalked towards the man) I told you that you'd regret it, your dead (she smiled, showing her fangs)
Man
(Starts to shake) but...but how? You shouldn't be able to transform! You should still be knocked out!
Sam
(Shakes her head) Did they not tell you anything? None of those kinds of things work completely on me. That devise
Had no effect at all except maybe a quick nap (she smiled) let me ask you, do you fear death? (She joked, the man didn't smile, he stood frozen) what? You didn't like my joke? (She shrugged) Well I'll just take that as a yes (she smiled taking another step closer)
Man

That's not likely to happen (she walked up next to him and grabbed his head in her hands, the mans eyes bulged as she stroked his cheek) Don't worry I'll have it be quick, but then again, this may not even kill you (she smiled and twisted his head to the side, there was a loud sickening crack and the man went limp, Sam dropped him in a heap. Then she fell to her knees and crawled to the edge of the road, froze and looked down at her ankle) you...this is all your fault! (Tears streamed down her face as she leaned towards her ankle) I'm taking you out, right now! No matter the consequences! (She reached down and with her teeth began to rip at her ankle, ignoring the pain and blood. Her teeth hit the chip and she yanked, the chip ripped free, through it away, and then crawled slowly over to Hayes. Then she sat up and pulled his head into her lap and cried as she stroked his hair) Hayes I’m sorry! I'm so sorry! It's all my fault, all my fault....so sorry... (She closes her eyes still crying)

(Opens his eyes slowly) S....Sam...

(Opens her eyes) Hayes! (Hugs him) Hayes....Hayes, I'm sorry, so sorry, but your okay! Your okay! How...? (Hayes reached up and put his finger on her lips)

I...Its okay....I'm fine...really (he tried to sit up but she held him down, looks over at the man but just nods)
Sam
A...are you sure you’re okay? Really? But how...? I saw....but...
Hayes
(Shakes his head) I don't know, it was like I was gone, then I heard you...
Sam
(Smiles and hugs him closely) I thought you were gone forever (she muttered sadly)

I'm here don't worry, I said I wasn't going to leave you (he smiled) One thing I'm a little confused about though is...how did you get over here? (He looked down at her ruined ankle and gasped) W...what did you do? Sam no... How could you? Do you realize what you could have done?
Sam
(Shakes her head sadly) I don't care, I dint even notice it then, its just...you were... (She started to cry again)
Hayes
(He sat up slowly and shifted out of her lap and pulled her into his being careful of her ankle)
shh...Sam...Shh its okay now, we can leave now, we're free, finally free (he smiled lifting her chin up)

Free...yes we're free! We can leave, find our own town, and get away from here! (She smiled)

See? We can live without fear now, live without being hunted or tracked. We're done being the prey, we're finally completely free (He leaned down and kissed her, her eyes widened at first then she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back, then he broke away smiling) Free (He said again, then stood up, lifted Sam into his arms and walked away from the city they had been prisoners in for a long time)

Aha! I knew it was here and by the stale scent, I'd say it’s abandoned. Let’s check it out! (She climbs into the cave and Hayes follows her hesitantly)
Hayes
Wow it’s actually pretty big in here (eyes the cave and puts pressure on the ceiling and walls) and sturdy too
Sam
(Lies down in a corner against the cave wall, Hayes walks over and sits next to her) Do you think there's anyway to take them out?
Hayes
(He sighs) I doubt it, especially if it’s on a main nerve, but there's always a Leopold, everything has one. We swam all the way here, so getting them wet doesn't do anything
Sam
(Sits up) Or biting them (she muttered, lifting up her pants leg to show rows of fresh scars around her ankle)
Hayes
(His eyes widen) When did you do that?! You could have been seriously hurt, you know that right?
Sam
(Looks at the ground, still muttering) I tried a few days ago back when we were still on the island, you were asleep, and I didn't want you to see. (Looks up at him on the brink of tears) I didn't know what to do! I was so confused! I got a front row seat to see everything they did to you! (Tears flowed down her cheeks, her voice quieted) It was so horrible, I was supposed to be out, but I don't know, maybe the anesthetic or tranquilizer doesn't work on me. Maybe I'm just defective, that's why they didn't test me, like they tested you.
Hayes
(Pulls her into his lap and holds her while she cries into his shoulder) shh....shh Sam shh... it's okay, your not defective, your perfect, your special, that's why it doesn't work. I bet they were waiting to test you, you know, save the best for last. (He stuttered trying to find the right words)
Sam
(Looks up at him and smiles) You know you really need to work on your comforting skills, that was the worst thing I've ever heard
(They both laugh)
Hayes
Okay, okay so we know I'm not so good at that
Sam

Hayes
Hey! Alright, but really are you okay? (He looked down at her his voice full of concern)
Sam
(Nods weakly and looks at the ground) I guess I just really needed to get hat off my chest. It’s just.... I'll always have those memories, and I can’t get rid of them (she shakes her head sadly)
Hayes
(Tightens his grip on her) I know it’s hard, but when we get away from here and live our lives free, it will all be forgotten
Sam
(Laughs) Now that's the comforting I needed
Hayes
(Laughs also) well one out of two is good for me. Now how about we get some sleep?
(Sam nodded, climbed off his lap and sat next to him, her head on his shoulder. The night creeps in and its pitch black)
Man
(Still dark) Hey guys I found them both! Yeah together! Alright, I might need backup! Yeah I got it! OK, yeah, hurry! (The light creeps in and a man is standing at the entrance to the cave) Wakey! Wakey! Get up you mutts! I've got a little surprise for you!
Sam
(Opens her eyes slowly) huh....? What...? (Her eyes go wide and she jolts to her feet waking up Hayes)
Hayes
Huh? What’s wrong? (He yawns)
Sam
(Through her teeth) Get up, we've got company
Hayes
(Looks at the man and stumbles to his feet) who are you?
Man
Just a man with a very important mission, that just happens to involve you (he smiles deviously showing his yellow teeth)
Sam
What do you want from us? (She starts to shake slightly)
Man
There is nothing I want from you; I want you (he takes a few steps forward)
Hayes
(He takes a step in front of Sam and growls) You stay away from us! I'm warning you!
Man
(Stops and pulls a small devise from his back pocket, looks at it in front of his face) Have you ever seen one of these before? I don't think so. This little devise here will stun you, (his smile widened) and it will stop you from being able to transform. (He laughed demonically)
Sam
(Her eyes widen and she whispers to Hayes) Can it really?
Hayes
(He nodded solemnly) more than likely, you can tell he's not lying
Man
You are correct, now, you can come with me willingly, or I can use force, which do you prefer? (Hayes growled and snarled, the man sighed) I guess we have to do this the hard way (two other men enter the cave) you two grab the boy, I'll get the girl first (he laughed holding up the devise)
Hayes
(Growls louder, standing protectively in front of Sam) Over my dead body
Man
(Shrugs) That can be arranged if you wish (he snaps and one of the men takes out a gun) we have no use for you anyway, it's the girl we want (the man with the gun raises it toward Hayes head)
Sam
(Yelps and runs in front of Hayes) NO! No you can't! We'll go with you without force! Just please, please don't!
(The gun man lowers his gun and shrugs)
Man
Very well come along then (one man grabs Sam's arm and the other one grabs Hayes, Hayes narrows his eyes but follows reluctantly) Oh, and don't even think about escaping, the bars are super reinforced (he smiles) and tinted with silver (Hayes growls, but smiles at Sam and winks) We know your weakness do we not? (Sam nodded looking solemn) See? We are not to be trifled with (they walk forward out to a large van, the man opens the back doors and revels a large, bared cage) in you go! (He smiled and the man pushed them both into the cage and locked it) Now, just to make sure, we are going to drive along the border of the city, so if you do escape, its one step and you’re fried. (He smiled and both Sam and Hayes narrowed their eyes at him and with one last laugh her closed the back doors, climbed into the driver’s seat and started the car.)
(Sam looked around the cage, carefully touched one of the bars, looked at Hayes and then they both burst out laughing)
Hayes
Silver bars? Are they serious?!
Sam
I think they've been watching too many horror movies!
Hayes
I mean a silver spike in the heart maybe, but that would kill anyone, but bars tinted with silver? Now that's just insulting!
Sam
Not even that much silver either, look at this its like little shavings of silver (she pointed at the bars and laughed)
Hayes
Lame, now let’s get out of here before I die of laughter
Sam
(Sam nodded and with a smile she pulled the bars apart) Thank God for genetically enhanced wolf strength! (She laughed crawling through the bars)
Hayes
(Crawled out after her, stands up and bumps his head on the roof) Ow! Could they make these things any smaller? (He rubbed his head and Sam laughed)
Sam
Lets just get out of here (she looked out the back window) middle of nowhere, no cars behind, pretty much just open fields then the mountains.
Hayes
Then let’s jump for it! (He slammed his fist through the window and it shattered, the car stopped at an abrupt halt that sent Hayes and Sam flying into the bars of the cage)
Sam
Ow! They have no manners, they could have at least warned us! (She grumbled, the back doors were yanked open)
Man
I see you have somehow managed to escape my silver cage and were planning to escape the van, no doubt. There is one thing I think you forgot though (he smiled pulling out the devise) Forget about this? (Hayes growled and put his arm in front of Sam) You! Girl come forward! (The man motioned with his finger and took a step back from the van)
Hayes
(He growled) No way!
Sam
(Whispering) Hayes...its okay, they want me; you can make a run for it.
Hayes
(His jaw locked) No way, I'm not leaving you!
Sam
(Took his face in her hands) Listen, this could be your only chance to get out alive
Hayes
(Looked into her eyes) I said I won’t leave you, I'd rather die
Sam
(Dropped her hands, looked away from his eyes and sighed) You’re so stubborn (she took a step forward and Hayes grabbed her wrist)
Hayes
Please....don’t...
Sam
(she shook his hand off and walked forward, out of the van and onto the ground in front of him) what?
Man
(Laughed) Let’s have a look at you (he grabbed her face with one hand and turned her head back and forth, her hands clenched into fists beside her) uh huh, well, good, yes, yes, now... (He lifted the devise and touched it to her arm, she yelped and fell forward into him, and he laughed and tossed her to one of the other men) Tie her up (the men grabbed a few ropes and tied her hands together before she woke up)
Hayes
(he started to tremble) you....you (he growled and launched himself at the man, landing on top of him, throwing him to the ground and forcing away the devise) She better be alright! You better not have hurt her! (He punched the man in the face) I'll kill you! I swear I'll Kill you!
Sam
(Wakes up) Hayes....don’t...
Man
(Throws Hayes off and stumbles to his feet, looked around and a grim lit his face) Do you know where we are? The edge, the border, the city limit (his smile widened)
Sam
(Eyes wide) NO! Hayes no! Stay Back! NO! (She struggled against the ropes)
Man
(Laughs) I should have done this a long time ago! (He lunged forward and pushes Hayes over the side of the rode, Hayes froze, then fell backward and his whole body began to convulse)
Sam
(Crying) Hayes! Hayes no! Hayes says something!!
Man
(Laughs) your cries are worthless, he’s done for (Hayes convulsions began to slow until his body stopped moving all together, including his breathing)
Sam
(Crying harder) Hayes! Hayes! Answer me! (Struggles with the ropes) NO! NO! HAYES!!
Man
(Still laughing) It is too late he’s gone! It’s your entire fault you do realize, all your fault! (The man snickered)
Sam
NO! NO! He’s not...he can't be...Hayes!! Hayes answer me!! Please Hayes!! Please.... (Her voice wavered and the man continued to laugh) No... (She looked up at him, her eyes narrow) I'll get you for this! You'll regret it! I swear!
Man
Just go ahead and try little lady, your stuck and you know it!
Sam
(Smiles) oh yeah? (She holds up the remains of the rope from behind her back) Easy, you think mere ropes can hold me? Ha! (She stood up transformed, the other two men tried to grab her but she grabbed both their heads and flung them together as hard as she could. They both fell to the ground, and she stalked towards the man) I told you that you'd regret it, your dead (she smiled, showing her fangs)
Man
(Starts to shake) but...but how? You shouldn't be able to transform! You should still be knocked out!
Sam
(Shakes her head) Did they not tell you anything? None of those kinds of things work completely on me. That devise
Had no effect at all except maybe a quick nap (she smiled) let me ask you, do you fear death? (She joked, the man didn't smile, he stood frozen) what? You didn't like my joke? (She shrugged) Well I'll just take that as a yes (she smiled taking another step closer)
Man
Y…you stay away from me!
Sam
That's not likely to happen (she walked up next to him and grabbed his head in her hands, the mans eyes bulged as she stroked his cheek) Don't worry I'll have it be quick, but then again, this may not even kill you (she smiled and twisted his head to the side, there was a loud sickening crack and the man went limp, Sam dropped him in a heap. Then she fell to her knees and crawled to the edge of the road, froze and looked down at her ankle) you...this is all your fault! (Tears streamed down her face as she leaned towards her ankle) I'm taking you out, right now! No matter the consequences! (She reached down and with her teeth began to rip at her ankle, ignoring the pain and blood. Her teeth hit the chip and she yanked, the chip ripped free, through it away, and then crawled slowly over to Hayes. Then she sat up and pulled his head into her lap and cried as she stroked his hair) Hayes I’m sorry! I'm so sorry! It's all my fault, all my fault....so sorry... (She closes her eyes still crying)
Hayes
(Opens his eyes slowly) S....Sam...
Sam
(Opens her eyes) Hayes! (Hugs him) Hayes....Hayes, I'm sorry, so sorry, but your okay! Your okay! How...? (Hayes reached up and put his finger on her lips)
Hayes
I...Its okay....I'm fine...really (he tried to sit up but she held him down, looks over at the man but just nods)
Sam
A...are you sure you’re okay? Really? But how...? I saw....but...
Hayes
(Shakes his head) I don't know, it was like I was gone, then I heard you...
Sam
(Smiles and hugs him closely) I thought you were gone forever (she muttered sadly)
Hayes
I'm here don't worry, I said I wasn't going to leave you (he smiled) One thing I'm a little confused about though is...how did you get over here? (He looked down at her ruined ankle and gasped) W...what did you do? Sam no... How could you? Do you realize what you could have done?
Sam
(Shakes her head sadly) I don't care, I dint even notice it then, its just...you were... (She started to cry again)
Hayes
(He sat up slowly and shifted out of her lap and pulled her into his being careful of her ankle)
shh...Sam...Shh its okay now, we can leave now, we're free, finally free (he smiled lifting her chin up)
Sam
Free...yes we're free! We can leave, find our own town, and get away from here! (She smiled)
Hayes
See? We can live without fear now, live without being hunted or tracked. We're done being the prey, we're finally completely free (He leaned down and kissed her, her eyes widened at first then she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back, then he broke away smiling) Free (He said again, then stood up, lifted Sam into his arms and walked away from the city they had been prisoners in for a long time)
