My Own Romeo
like a character in a twisted love story,
you came into my life.
Falling for you, I find that I'm
the one that holds the knife.
Waiting for the one slip up
that takes you away from me,
I'll be the one to end my life,
and go where you should be.
Don't be afraid, I say to myself,
we shall never be apart.
But just in case, If you should die,
I'll hold this dagger to my heart.
The tiny pang of sacrificial hurt
will mean nothing at all to me.
As long as I have you to stay
and love me for eternity.
I'll deny myself the breath of life
to keep you by my side.
It's the smallest price that I could pay
to never be left behind.
My own Romeo, my own Dark Angel,
I hope that I'm yours, too.
There's nothing in the world worth having,
if I am not to have you.
