Portable assembly of DOOM or Forteress of desktop EVILNESS ? I'm currently wondering if i should go with a laptop or a desktop computer. My computer is old as time itself (6 years old) so i'm pretty much overdue on the complete upgrade of my system. My first argument to go desktop instead of portable is the price but the desktop i need is costing almost the same as a standard laptop. - P4 3Ghz - Asus P4C800 E DX Motherboard - Corsair 512 DDR 3200 XMS Ram - Creative Labs Audigy 2 Soundcard - Ati All-In-Wonder 9600XT 128mb Videocard - Antec Plus1080 Soyo Case - Maxtor 180gig S-ATA or IDE with 8mb cache HD (maybe 2x) - Nec 17inch Flat CRT Screen (would like 2x but no room for that) Without the screen ... 1600$ CAN Without the screen and second HD ... 1400$ CAN The Sony Laptops i'm after are like 3000$ CAN ... so say 1500$-2000$ for a Thoshiba or a cheap Sony. If would use the portability of the laptop for work and general use but i'm not sure if i should go for that right now. I still need to get my driver license (yeah i'm teh late) and the thing to drive ... often referenced as a car ... or really expensive piece of metal

	lol well, I would go for the portable computer. Really usefull when you travel, or want to show things to people. But I would also advise you to get your driving license, and your car. Because even I have both of them now. xd

	Welcome to the "I want a better computer but I'm not sure if I should buy it or not" club. As for your driving liscence, you're not in the late and I wish that you wont be surrounded only by people who are 5 to 6 years younger than you. Believe me, it was totally freaky. You said TEH!!!! rofl

	I got my license 3 month ago. I am 28. I was one of the elder in the driving school. But there was a bunch of foreigners older than me too. sweatdrop

	Well that doesn't count Ideki =-P Foreigners getting license it's kind of normal for them to be old ... you don't get transfered to Japan when you are 15 years old =-P and yes i say Teh quite often ... like Benisato is teh hawt zomb =-P

	Hot Zombie indeed. xd Wo[f, I think you should go all the way for a portable since the actually canadian currency is getting stronger and stronger, which means that computer price are way more interesting.
