The Demon's Halo
Chapter 2
Prise walked up to me as I was leaving school.
"So. Where's Damu?" He whispered. I pointed to the car. He gasped.
"You're going home with him as well?!"
"I have to Prise. It's his job to protect me so I have to go everywhere he goes. Come with us." I said. Prise frowned a bit, then followed me to the car.
"About time, I forgot how weak a human body could be. I'm starving." Damu winned. To my surprise, I laughed.
"Where do you wanna go eat?" I asked looking at him as he got in, he raised one eyebrow at me. "Oh, right, you've only been a human for a day or so..... Whatever, let's just go to the Mall." I said.
Damu got into the backseat, he knew by sitting next to me he would make Prise annoyed. I drove them down to the Mall and we had some pizza at a shop nearby.
Damu loved it. It was funny seeing how an ex-demon/angel would react to being a human.
"Dawn!" I heard someone call me, it was Duke, my cousin.
"Hey Duke, what are you doing here?"
"I'm here with some friends, saw you and thought I'd come say hi. You've rarely been home lately."
"I know, I've been busy." I smiled. Duke looked at Prise and Damu.
"I bet!" He smiled and laughed. I caught on quickly and blushed.
"I'm gonna kill you for that Duke!" I got up.
He laughed and ran back to his friends.
Prise was even beginning to laugh.
"It's not funny Prise!"
"Yes it is!" He smiled. Damu looked confused, but he smiled when he noticed I was looking at him.
I sat back down, glareing at Duke the entire time.

"Dawn, I have to go home for a while, my mom just text me, I gotta go help her out." Prise said.
"Alright. I'll see you later." I said, then Prise took my hand and pulled me close.
He got close to my ear.
"If anything happens call me. Anything at all. Alright?" He whispered into my ear.
I blushed at the closeness and nodded.
"Good." He kissed me on the cheek.
Then he walked away and left me standing there blushing.
"Hey, Dawn, Let's go!" Damu laughed and grabbed my hand leading me to the Arcade. This was his first time playing video games.
He had so much fun, I actually didn't want to go myself.
Later that day, we decided to walk to the park.
"Wow..... besides being so weak, being human is actually entertaining." Damu said.
I laughed.
"You're just glad becasue of all the girls giggling over you." I said.
"What are you talking about? What girls?"
"At the Mall, ever girl we passed by had her eyes on you." I said smiling.
Damu rolled his eyes as if he didn't care.
There was a long silence after that, until suddenly Damu stopped walking and his face went serious.
"Damu?" I whispered.
It all happened so fast then. One minute I was on the ground getting pinned by something, the next minute it was yanked off me and Damu was pinning it down.
After a lot of growling and screaming, I saw both the attacker and Damu frowzen in shock.
I sat up to look. The attacker was a demon, a female. With long dark purple hair and orange eyes.
Damu's eyes grew along with hers.
"Kirai?!"
"Damu....!" She gasped.
There was a long silence as Damu released Kirai slowly.
Because of the attack, Damu's wings were out in alert. Big, fluffy, white angel wings. Kirai's wings were out as well, long, skinny, black and bat-like.
They looked at each other for a long time.
"I thought I'd never see you again." Kirai said finally.
Damu closed his eyes and looked at me.
"You alright?" He asked.
"Yes...." I whispered, stunned at the beauty of Damu when he was in angel form.
Kirai touched his wing.
"It is true. You did become an angel." She whispered, tears beginning to form at her eyes.
Damu frowned.
"And you're still working for Sin."
Kirai nodded and closed her eyes.
"Why are you here?" He asked.
Kirai opened her eyes.
"I've been asigned a mission, to kill Dawn." She said glancing at me.
