Phoenix snatched the schedule out of Jules’ hand.
“Phoenix! Give me back my schedule!” Jules exclaimed, but Phoenix stood up and held it above his head to read it.
“Give…it…back!” Jules ordered as she jumped for her schedule, but she was too short to reach it.
“Ooh. You’ve got Human History,” Phoenix pointed out as he held Jules’ schedule out of reach, “Cool! So do I! I can show you where the class is.”
“Oh, I’m so honored,” Jules said sarcastically, rolling her eyes as she snatched her schedule out of Phoenix’s hand, “Thanks but I think I can find it on my own.”
“That class is in werewolf hallway. I wouldn’t walk down there alone if I were you,” Phoenix warned, “Perhaps it would be best if I walked with you.”
“Phoenix, I’ve lived almost six years without you,” Jules reminded him as she started walking.
Phoenix gave her a small smile.
“Yeah, but that was before you came to a school filled with vampires and werewolves,” he pointed out dryly as he fell into step with her.
Jules rolled her eyes. “Great. So I’ve got my own personal bodyguard. Next thing you know, you’ll be walking me home to make sure I don’t get mugged.”
“That’s not funny, Julie,” Phoenix said seriously, “You know, that doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.”
Oh, great, Jules thought, me and my big mouth.
