The End!!!!!
Love and Death: A Question to the Masses
I have a question to pose to all out there abouty love. It is based off of the idea that, most people think that the nobelest thing that you could do is to lay down your life to save the one that you love. My question is, is that really a selfless thing to do? You leave your loved one behind in world that for them has now no love, see...for you, their love have gone. And on top of that they will spend the rest of their lives wishing that they could have gone with you or that they some how could change what happened. They get to live out a life filled with regret and loss. The one they love is dead beacuse, whether indirectly or not, of them. Imagine...just imagine having to live your whole life with that hanging darkly above your head. Would it not be better to go together into death? Or is that in its own way greedy?

In this day and age, it might just be better to go together. You'd be free of the restraints and burdens of this world. And, you'd be in your love's arms for eternity.

That, or your death would be their motivation to help change the world for the better. The world as it stands now, is cruel and unfair, but your love would try to find a way to change so people don't have to suffer through the loss that they did.

Just browsing...not too creeped out, hopefully...here goes...

I'd like to think giving up your life for someone really is a selfless thing to do. Though it is true that the person saved would have to go on living without their loved one, they will at least get the chance to LIVE.

In the end, the person who gave up their life wanted them to live in the first place (for if not, why bother making such a sacrifice in the first place?) and wanted them to keep on living their life in much the same way they were living it before (if not, better than before).

Is that to say that the person who lives on will not feel pain? No, not at all. In fact, the person may become so filled with grief that they may even contemplate the taking of their own life, though if that were to ever become a choice, the person would act wisely in reconsidering such a move, for you see, the taking of such a rash action would ultimately negate their fallen loved one's sacrifice, not to mention that the action itself would be foolhardy and selfish; doing so would end the pain felt by the individual, but would certainly cause their loved ones to feel that very same pain, and quite possibly cause them to start down that very same stagnant path...

Is it possible the person saved may never forgive the person and live a life of bitter resentment? Yes, but they could also do quite the opposite.

It would do well to consider this; at least they would have the already-mentioned CHANCE to live their lives in a manner of their choosing. What they choose to do, whether it be to embrace or shun the possibility of actually having possibilities...well that'd be up to them.

That was very well thought out. Thank you for your response. It was very stimulating and I am glad that you wern't afraid to answer such a question, most people wouldn't answer it, because it is a touchy subject.
