I am sick and tired of this "emo" stereotype. This fad/hate word has been around for quite awhile and its purely hateful to one's true feelings. If we're sad about someone who has boken up with us around our friends, they'll call us "emo" or to just "get over him/her" I want to find who had the ******** right to call normal thoughts and feelings "emo" because this stuck up b*****d needs to ******** die. This is what causes liberal thoughts and poetry to fade when some a*****e comes with some communist view as not to share or express one's hate, anger, or stresses in life. I can understand if people dislike people who are pessismistic and just mortuous. But the ******** I'm going to live in a world when all of a sudden, Edgar Allen Poe is disproved because of this celebriality mindset all these retarded teenagers have.
Here's a lesson in history. During WWII there were the punks, they were clean, anti-drug users who believed in what was righteous to the human being. Then came the hippies, while although many say they liberal views, many of them were conservatives who just believed in free love and hallucinative drugs; these were not necessarily bad people because they did want change for the better and grasped onto activity that was not acceptable at the time. But the hippies gave way to women's rights, women started feeling empowered by free speech and with the sexual revolution, they felt empowered. It also brought forth a more powerful porn industry, with all the free love going around, watching some porn with your wife and another swingin' couple was always sensational.
When we look back on this though, do you see any upbringing stereotypes?
If a woman has multiple partners, she's a slut.
If a man does it he's a pimp.
If you're considered a punk, you wear chains and combat boots.
If a woman stands up for her rights or speaks out against something, she's a feminist
Which leads me to my conclusion that society goes through many changes, there is no doubt on that. But do you know what was before all these revolutionary periods?
The Catholic church.
Now I'm not bashing religion whatsoever, but I do not believe a person will go to hell for speaking out for what is wrong. The salem witch trials for example?
Do we really want to go back to the days where speaking about the injustices of the world are punished?
This day in age is more liberal than it ever has been, you have gay marriage being legal in California, we might have a colored man in office along with a woman who will be VP, and you have a generation of kids and teenagers who use the internet and the TV as a main learning resource.
The only thing I worry about is that the passion of literature, music, and speech be wiped out because emotion is not a factor of being right anymore. Moral and philosophy be wiped clean in a society that is just beginning to get at its best. It's the fear of Brave New World all over again.
We don't worry too much of this now because being called "emo" is just a word and that they should be punished because they have to cut themselves just to make sure they're still alive in the world. WELL ******** YOU.
You just wait when you're at your lowest point and see what the ******** happens to you, you might just want to cry.
