A Vampire's Heart
Chapter 9
Holding the cold body of the girl he loved, Vex looked into Shetani's eyes.
"Just kill me Shetani! Do it!" He screamed.
"With pleasure." Shetani smiled and grabbed Vex by the throat. "Goodbye Vex!"
With one mighty swing, Shetani threw Vex into the flames.
Vex held tightly onto Cara.
"I'll be with you again soon Cara." He thought.
Holding onto Cara tightly, Vex did not hesitate as the flames slowly began to engulf around him. He screamed in agony.
Shetani watched with pleasure as Vex and Cara quickly became a pile of ashes.
"My job is done here." Shetani smiled and left the flaming castle.

"Wesley! Wake up!" I screamed shaking his shoulders.
"Jaine!" Angel snapped and pulled me away.
I hugged him tightly and began crying.
"Why isn't he waking up?!" I cried.
"He's breathed in too much silver, Jaine. I'm sorry." Angel hugged her tightly.
"But..... he jusy has to wake up!..." I cried, and looking back at Wesley's body lying on the ground brought back all the memories of him.
"I hated him so much before this happened....... He saved my life....." I thought. I cried even harder and ran back to his body.
"Wesley..... please wake up!" I cried. I put my hand on his cheek, he was even colder now! Angel put his hand on my shoulder.
"He's not waking up Jaine." Angel sighed, clearly he was upset as well.
"But.... He has to..... I love him....." I cried into his shoulder.
There was a long silence after that.
"I know you do Jaine." Angel hugged me tightly. "I know you do. And he loved you as well." He whispered.
I looked at Angel.
"What?! No he doesn't, he hates me!" I said.
"No, Wesley loved you." Angel said. "He told me. He never hated you, Jaine."
My heart broke.
"Angel...... can I have some time alone please?"
Angel nodded, stood up and walked away.

"VEX!!" Haine screamed.
"You're majesty! The castle is up in flames! You need to get out!" Vincent screamed grabbing Haine's hand.
"I'm not leaving without Vex!" She cried.
"Don't worry, he can take care of himself! Haine, let's go! Now!" Vincent screamed.
Haine didn't want to do this, but she grabbed Vincent's hand.
"Haine!" Aya ran up with Max close behind her.
"Is everyone out of the building?" Haine panted.
"Yes, we went around the castle and didn't hear anyone calling for help, I think everyone's out." Aya panted.
They got outside to see everyone standing around, looking at the burning building with fear in their eyes.
After a search, Haine gasped.
"Vex and Cara aren't here!" She gasped in horror and began running towards the flaming castle.
"Haine! No!" Corona ran after her, grabbed her and protected her right as the burning castle collapsed to the ground.
Haine sat up, horror in her eyes.
"VEX!!" She screamed.

I looked at Wesley's body as he lied on the ground.
"Wesley...... I can't believe you're gone....." I whispered.
I looked at his face. "Wake up....please...."
I leaned over and put my lips onto his.
I kissed him slowly as my tears fell onto his cheek.
"Please! Wake up!" I thought. As I broke off from the kiss, I looked desperately at Wesley. Nothing happned.
"Wake up!!!!" I screamed and punched him.
I could tell he was still alive, his lip began to bleed, but very very slowly.
Suddenly, my heart began jumping at the smell of Wesley's blood.
Then, I got an idea.
"Maybe...... would this work?" I thought. Slowly I leaned down and kissed Wesley again.
"Please...wake up." I whispered and unseathed my fangs. Slowly, I bit down into his cold neck and began drinking.
