Warning Offensive Material Ahead
It's Monday about 3:45 am and I'm about to go to bed. To clear up anything left over from yesterday, that was more or less a personal rant. I've realized I have freedom of speech and I plan to use ( or abuse, given your point of view) that freedom as often as i can.

So now on to schools. Education in this country in deplorable. Why? Educational reform plans by senators, congressmen, Governors, and presidents of both parties that don't understand how bad it's getting. Second chances, No child gets left behind, Esl classes, and Teachers being forced to have children that require special educational needs ( that 9 times out 10 the teachers aren't trained for) in their regular classes. Athletes being passed just so the school can have that extra trophy.

It all started with when people began complaining of this sudden terrible thing call Attention Deficit Disorder. I like to call this " momma didn't beat your a** enough disorder". My proof? My step brother Noe had A.D.D. He also was violent hit his sisters and was an over all little s**t. Maria never punished him. My Father started punishing ( spanking and grounding) Noe when he hit his sisters or skipped school. Guess what folks A.D.D cleared Right up!
Now i will not dispute that tons of people actually have A.D.D and Dyslexia and things like that, but alot of the time kids don't and A.D.D is used as an excuse. So we lowered the bar.
Then Along comes some one else with A.D.H.D, or Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder. I'm calling Bullshit on most of this because I've had several people tell me they have both A.D.D and A.D.H.D. NO. THat's Physically IMPOSSIBLE! You haven't had your a** busted enough! Once again, I'll acknowledge that some people legitimately have this, but I still think most folks fake it.
BUT we lower the bar again.
Then Mexican immigrants chime in( not all of them But enough) "My child knows the answer, they just won't ask him in espanol" NO s**t! YOU'RE IN AMERICA, SPEAK ENGLISH! Go to France and try that Habla Espanol s**t, they'll look at you like you're a jackass. Your kid probably wouldn't know the answer anyways, because he has ( wait for it) A.D.D! So we lower the bar and create s**t like ESL.
Then we have other Groups " Testing is racially Biased!" People it's a damned piece of paper. Oh wait I know it's white so it must be in the Klan. That must be why we have the TAKS test Stands for the Texas Assessment of Klan Scholastics apparently. So we lower the bar again..
And Again.
And Again.
And Again.
Finally the bar is so low we have a kid wearing a football helmet and water floaties sitting in class saying " Der...This is ******** easy....I'm gunna go to Huh-Harvard cuz I gotta 4.6 G...G.P.S." (If you didn't get this joke, I think you're a jackass.)
We have people dropping out of school because they failed two years in a row because they were bored at how easy the classes were and taking their G.E.D.
We have Grown a** High School Graduates that can't spell Graduate.
we have Seniors reading at a fifth grade level. If you get to the twelfth grade and have to sound out a Goosebumps book, you're a retard.
We have Children that are growing up to be idiots because their parents don't have the guts to challenge them, like my mom challenged me. At 7 years old I was reading Edgar Allen Poe. I know graduates that ask if he's some kind of musician.
Children are more worried about what clothes to wear and music to listen to so that they aren't unpopular. Guess what kids. You all need to be made to listen to Beethoven, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, while wearing drab grey uniforms and learning to ******** read!
Knowing that Paris Hilton sucked off some guy in a night club will not put food on your plate. Arguing over which generic crap pop star is more talentless Hilary Duff, or Lindsay Lohan will not make you smart enoough to cure cancer.

And The government lowering the bar again so that Every child no matter how damned STUPID they are graduates will NOT help. Parents are the only ones that can stop this. Challenge your children. Help them to learn to read. Take ten minutes out of your day and read them a good night story. Mothers Listen to classical music while your pregnant, it really does help. Don't drink, don't smoke, for the love of Jesus Christ in a Wheel Barrow don't do drugs while your pregnant. Unless, of course, you want your kid to be Mentally Deficient.

Read to them, talk to them, teach them to broaden their minds. Enunciation, Pronunciation, Grammar, culture. Expose them to the good things. Let them experience Opera, and musicals. Let them experience films. Not these " vroom vroom, blow s**t up, kill the bad guy" pieces of mass produced crap that comes out nowadays. Good films. Les Miserables. Phantom of the Opera. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
Get them interested in Reading. Comic books, novels, poetry, ANYTHING! s**t teach the little bugger how to install a rear axel on a Dodge pick-up by helping read the damned instruction guide for that matter.
Show them Music. Beethoven, Clapton, Elvis, Metallica, Ray Charles. Swing, Jazz, Blues, Metal, Rap, Big Band. The Clash, The Ramones, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, John Phillip ********' Sousa!
But Overall, Remember this : Kids Aren't born Dumb. "Public Education" makes them that way. Challenge your children. I'm going to bed.

..up till now i was behind you all the way, here's where we begin to differ a little. and i'm glad you're using your freedom. heart three parts this time xD..

public education is deplorable, no argument there, but homeschooling and private school have their merits.

i think your a.d.d rant is bullshit, and i'll tell you why. i have ******** a.d.h.d, it's an actual chemical reversal in the brain that causes things to react in ways contrary to how they should. caffiene wakes most people up, it puts me right to sleep, out like a light. it also causes extreme reactions to laughing gas, just so you know. it's a real honest-to-god illness. know about something before you rant about it, this goes to both you and all the ******** that fake it. that's what ritalin's for, it works if you're really a.d.d, so if you're on ritalin and nothing changes, then you don't have it. period. it's not like depression where there's variables. and don't you dare tell me i wasn't disciplined enough, you know how strict my rearing was. compared to me you're spoiled, so you have absolutely no room to talk. although, it gives you some clue as to how screwed our educational system is when someone who has a.d.h.d has straight a's and is bored in class, not challenged enough. X.x

i agree on the esl, to a degree. i say this because it's not just mexicans in esl. legitimate refugees who never had the chance to learn deserve too. little brats who's parents couldn't be bothered to learn and teach their kids don't deserve it. it is america. a one-language country. you want to survive anywhere in the world? learn english, we're not the only country that does. testing is biased, it's slanted towards the stupid.

we have the ahs class of '04 who can't figure out the goddamned alphabet. stare "m" in there three freaking times.. at 7 i was reading college-level literature, in music memory (you remember that, right?) i went to state level competition, because i'd already known all of it. reading is a wonderful thing, but not enjoying it doesn't make you stupid. there are legitimate reasons for people to have trouble reading, or if people just don't like to, that's fine. some brains just aren't wired for it. i know mine is wired for words and images. shapes, so i excell at english and science, others do better in history, or math (i know piekun is a brilliant mathmetician..) it all just depends.

i agree the no child left behind isn't the best piece of legislation, i appreciate the sentiment, but the method is all backwards. you don't bring the brilliant down to the masses, you elevate the brilliant then look at the ones left behind and yoiu work on elevating them too, not pacifying them. i once had someone (an honors student) tell me honors classes were easier than regular classes, and that as a whole, honors students weren't any smarter, they just knew how to cheat better. so that tells you things are backwards..

That's why I said i know it's a real illness, and don't doubt some people having it. I'll edit so that includes a.d.h.d as well...just so long as we don't have another debate. I just want to rant.

xD i think there's merit in both. i was raised predominantly on classical music, black and white films, and disney. i can appreciate the modern stuff, romantic comedy, violence and gore, but the old stuff is classic for a reason. i grew up haunted by the words and sounds of les miserables, and the broadway PotO. i fell asleep watching the old classics in greyscale, romeo and juliet, PotO, cerano de bergerac (though i can't for the life of me spell it). i figure that's something my parents did right, not the insulating us from modern culture, but the immersing us in the timless greats. the downside was that anything that happened before i was 8 in popular culture, i had to figure out on my own.

my favourite thing growing up was being able to converse intelligently with my parents. my father in particular. i idolized him. i loved to fall asleep to his rumbly deep voice reading out loud.. his reading voice is entirely separate from his speaking voice.. i've been told mine is too, but that's someting i look forward to, reading to my kids. not reading them dr seuss or clifford the big red dog, but real books. the witches of karres was my favorite from the first time i heard/read it. the princess bride was also a good book. i also think my love for a variety of music comes from them. i'm not too fond of rap, i don't really think of it as music, but i'm the kind of person that can listen to just about anything. i thank my parents for that.

My mom "has" adult attention deficit disorder...and I totally think that was misdiagnosed...my problem is when the doctors just want to be done with you and are willing to diagnose you with anything, hand you a prescription, take your money, and kick your *** out the door.

I'll handle doctors in an upcoming rant.
